    Thanks for this! However from the very first stitch is the thread knotted on the other side of the fabric to keep it in place before looping etc?

    Alyssa I realize that 2 years on, you may never see this comment 😆 but I thought you’d enjoy this: knitting spelled backward is tink, so my knitting bestie calls unknitting “thinking”. When I showed her tatting, she decided that since it’s basically making knots (intentionally), working back should be called “ tonking “ - which is knot spelled backward! 😄

  • @Penguinandfish
    @Penguinandfish2 ай бұрын

    zohmygah. Love this. I'm knitting a project right now that needed some thinking. heh heh. I'll definitely remember to call it tonking next time for tatting.

    Your instructions are far superior to the book that came with my beginner’s embroidery set. It didn’t even specify what a stitch length was! Though I am very bad at determining length on sight alone; exactly how long is a stitch length?

  • @Cue6bh
    @Cue6bh2 ай бұрын

    In sewing, a stitch length is not determinate. It can be a measurement that's on the shorter side or longer side. You choose. What matters is that it is consistent once you choose your length
