Can pitcher plants catch live lizards on their own?
When I cracked open my pits, there were no viable seeds. Maybe I shouldn't have let the pits dry out for a month?
Ha, ha, ha! Does your wife know you have one of her knitting needles?
Had one in my front yard as a kid in Australia. Absolutely delicious when ripe but you’ll really regret eating non-ripe fruit, like having a mouthful of fur and blunt razor blades if you can imagine that
Irish???
Way too much talking! Get to the point!
You know what would have made this video a lot easier ? By just saying that if you grew cherries, then it's pretty much exactly the same process. Seriously! I was hoping the whole intro that you were not going to say put it in a moist paper towel in the fridge because every single time I've tried to grow cherries like this all the cherries do is they just get soggy and nasty they never germinate and it's like well you're putting too much moisture in there it's like no I'm not putting too much moisture in it I don't know what the hell's going on but yeah it doesn't ever work for me I live in the south and I know for a fact that I can grow blueberries and I can grow peaches because my neighbor has several peach trees and they are going crazy right now that's where I got the Peaches I got now I just ate one and it was pretty good I like my peaches pretty soft but not rotten and the blueberries that I got from a lady she bought nine blueberry plants and I didn't know this but you have to have a different type of blueberry plant for blueberries to pollinate a certain way anyways getting back to the peaches but so I know the peaches will grow and whatever is on this is I don't even know what zone I live in and I'm a gardener so I know that sounds ridiculously crazy but hey it is what it is. Just thought I would shout out about the cherry seed being almost the exact same process. Well you got to do what you got to do maybe I'll have better luck out of the peaches and I'll try another round of cherry seeds, too.
😅 well it gets moldy so what am I doing wrong? I done everything you said in the video but it dies somehow. Can i do something else then putting it in the frigde.
I germinated it in a way easier way - get the seed, damp the towel, put it in a ziplock and some cupboard for a week. Then plant it. I have two seeds that survived and have about 3 inch growth so far 🥰.
Brilliant :)
Thanks
Thank you I'm just starting my peach trees I'll take your advice
Feedback: love this. I just found your channel, maybe you cover it later, but some long term planning advice would be good. Like, here's 50 sq ft, I want 3 cherries and a mango here, I'll need to start 15 shoots to allow for loss, it will take 5 years and need to source donor grafting. At the moment I'm just interested in the idea, but I'm wondering if I'll end up with 20 trees in big pots that all make bad fruit.
What dish soap you used
Keitt
that's because you did not fertilize at least a couple of times ,sounds like to me
I eat it like corn on the cob! Had 3 of them in the last couple of days. It's good to live in sub-tropical areas.
I could imagine within 1 or 2 hundred years from now those cherry trees might get massive if they don't get trimmed every now and then once they get older
Just watched this video with my 5 year old because we had peaches today and I asked her if she wanted to try to grow a peach tree. Of course she said yes, so we're going to give it a try. Thank you for such an easy to follow video!
@abbyg8827 That's so awesome to hear!! 😃 I hope it goes well 🙏 🙂
Why tinfoil? I use plastic bags, I'm now curious why you used foil?
This just made me uncomfortable
i really like rainer cherries. Just bought a bag of them and I am gonna try this out!
💦🍑 thicc
Gardening challenge! Go to your local shop and steal a few fruit. Germinate the seeds and grow many fruit. Harvest fruit and sell to the same shop.
Interesting, I live in an area where soil is clay, any advice what I can do change the pack to support cherries? Ty
Thanks for the video! I saw a thai constellation that fruited, i wonder if the variegation affects the flavor
Can I use 8 on my sweet corn?
What part of Scotland are you from? My ex-wife and her family lived in Edinburgh. I went there and spent some time there and found the country lovely, except for the fact that it pisses down rain almost all the time. I'm making peach jam today so I have about 15 pets I'm going to get seeds from to try out your recommendations.
I tried it and all it did was rott in fridge.
thank you for al the wonderful information,.. I'm your new subscriber,... very informative, very helpful,...😍🥰🤩
First 1 is common in India (Only in south India) mainly in mountain regions of South India.
what a great idea Monstera Deliciosa jam (ah a pity I no longer live up in Lismore, we had a huge plant in the backyard)
how long before you can plant it outside and produce fruit?
@kandimetcalf2786 if you have a place to plant direct into the ground, I would do it as soon as the little saplin is about 20-30cm a few months before spring if your going to bare it or if your putting it in from pot straight to the ground it can go in ASAP.
I cant express my gratitude to you for this information. As you can guess I do love blueberries!
"When you drop your seed in the hole......" 😮😂
I live in the Caribbean in Antigua 🇦🇬 and I grow peaches, plums, pears, apples, blueberries, and blackberries. You just have to choose the right low chill varieties.
Been wanting to learn this for years. Have saved lots of different types. Just starting to get into growing Peaches and Cherrys. So, I loved your videos on how to get started!!! Wish me Luck!!!
Make sure to cold stratify your seeds for at least 6 weeks.
I've bought cherry trees, apple trees, peach from a nursery. They've always turned out to be garbage. One of our friends gave us a peach she started from a pit/ seed whatever you call it. The fruit is awesome. Nursery tree next to it, garbage. Going to try to see if I can get a cherry started from a pit.
(This really is a superb video) :)
I invite you to include your location in your headers, so we know if you're northern or southern hemisphere and what you're likely latitude is? I'm in Perth Australia 32° south (about Marrakesh or Tijuana in the northern hemisphere) locally we have what is more citrus than stone fruit country the city being built on a sandy alluvial plain, and our temperatures are such that it is unlikely that we would ever get a cherry crop locally as stone fruits typically don't set in these temperatures, but cherry trees can still be coppiced and make a pleasant garden screen... I'm confused because you speak in one video of planting in January (up to 43°C locally?) or frozen in the UK, but you also speak of planting mangoes?. great videos, very best wishes, John, Perth, Au' :)
Thanks sir
I’m going to give it a go! Thankyou for your thorough teaching. Much appreciated!
You should really mix the neem oil with the dish soap FIRST and then add to the water. You'll have better results
@anonbahker2518 that's not a bad suggestion! I will give it a try. If I think it does mix better that way, I will give this a pin! 😉
I’ve done all this and they continue to come back every week. How do I get it to stop coming back?
uh. Ok, so I was doing everything wrong :D
Ah OK WELL I WILL BE HOME IN THE MORNING ☺️😅
fortitude, resilience
This really helps and will prevent the the untimely demise of my sunflower thank you so much for this
peaches straight off the tree is good.
