Totally agree with this video in 2024! To this day in 2024 Corsair keyboards will not enter BIOS. May I ask, what use is a keyboard if it cannot enter BIOS in its natural state?!!! WTF are you making Corsair?! They say you got to do some weird keystroke combination to put it in BIOS mode before you can try to enter BIOS. Never heard of such sick crap anywhere! Not to mention, over the years that I have stuck with Corsair I have had weird problems like the computer refusing to boot up with the keyboard connected .. to the keys typing all nonsense all by itself .. to completely ignoring the Shift key so you get the same letter no matter whether you use the the Shift key or not! I have had it with Corsair .. I am shifting brands now. Cheers mate .. good one!

Nice vid. I've got three of them now. Q-what did you do for an adapter for the Start mount one? I made one from an aluminium m42 adapter last week, but wondered what you'd done. I've got the plans for 3d printing one, but id prefer something better.
@crazygeorgelincoln28 күн бұрын
Thanks for the sub, I also used a m42 adapter. Eyeballed it with a Dremel to get the bayonet shape , friction fit once its in, I think adding a grub screw make it feel more confident.

Wow, good for you! I went searching for a video like this yesterday and didn't find it, so landed up busking stripping mine down last night. The helicoid was jammed solid with gunk. Didn't take the ring off it like you did, just brushed some WD40 silicone lubricant in and let it seep, then dried it off and worked it free. And greased it. I left the lenses alone (they were clean, but interestingly one had three tiny bubbles in the glass! Can't see them in use). I left the funky step down arm alone too. The only thing extra I did, I stripped off the iris ring- it needed greased too -there's a wee screw that releases it, but also moves the aperture. I couldn't relocate it (neglected to leave the aperture fully open or closed). Twitchy moment, but discovered the whole ring screwed off eventually, so I could pen mark the receiving hole position. Gonna give it a polish tonight!
@crazygeorgelincoln28 күн бұрын
Glad the video had the potential to be useful if KZread showed it when requested. The lens is growing in popularity probably due to difficulty finding 13blade m42 versions. I like the lenses with the bubbles in.
@Tele-fk4cuАй бұрын
Thanks for the video! Do you think you need to remove all the old grease, or is it enough to add some oil through the lubrication holes?
@crazygeorgelincolnАй бұрын
If your not wanting to fully disassemble, don't try to flush every bit of old grease out. A dry helicoid an stick and jam a tiny bit of grit can get a lot of grit without grease. Wipe what you can see. Add a la couple of drops of oil, work the helicoid to get it where you cant see, wipe off the bits you can see and grease them. With stuff lenses often the helicoid is fine , its the sliding rings that operate and locate it that are the issue. The screw that rides in the groove inside the rear section was dragging on one of my 40s. I found that some lenses operate stiff with grease and work better with a synthetic 5w40 or higher engine oil. Best of luck. And thank you.
