I'm a Junior and I want to submit writing (specifically short stories) but I'm not taking an English class since I passed all the English classes available at my school. Who do I ask to be a sponsor? Can I still ask that teacher even if I'm not taking their class anymore? Also, for the form, do I have to print it out and have the sponsor sign it?

How & where did you get your research published? Is it through the professor/university? Or is it on your own publishing?

Ahhh such a memory rush seeing the dorms. My dorm mate and I were climbing inside and changing in our wardrobes cuz we so uncomfortable with each other at first and since we were on the swim team, we were hanging our dripping swimsuits on the doors of the wardrobe. Did they have the reversible mattress with a hard side and soft side? I didn’t even realize it was reversible for the first few months so my dorm mate and I actually switched beds cuz I liked a soft mattress and she liked the hard mattress and we thought it was just stuck like that. Also was it just me or was there A LOT of dead squirrels

your essays are a solid step up above a ton of others reading supplements on youtube, it's not even funny. they're _the_ big, metaphorical essays that everyone tries to emulate but doesn't capture the magic. thanks for posting these.

Hi I know this is late but my test is in two weeks and I have scored 720 and 750 on princeton and 730 and 690 on barrons physical test and 750/760 on the two extra digital barrons test. I actually found barrons easier than princeton bc my problem with princeton is the wording. I find the way princeton phrase their practice test’s questions to be confusing when the actual concept is really simple. Would you say the real test’s wording were more like barrons or princeton? Finally, how much easier would you say is the actual test compared to barron’s. And if easier are my scores looking promising to get a 760+ with two more weeks of studying? (Please feel free to reply even if you have taken the test as well as the practice tests in barrons or princeton, this is my first subject test so I need all the advice I can get😊)

I read this one a while ago so I don’t remember too many specifics, but I did enjoy it a lot because of Jia’s more personal stories. I felt it was a sweet (? as sweet as it can be anyway, with all the facts and figures that are kinda exhausting to think abt as woman) way to end the book, even while still maintaining that constant assessment of self that’s evident throughout all the essays! I think it was a great mix of just all the elements I’ve loved most throughout this whole book-history and facts that I had no idea about, as well as a personal edge, and just thought-provoking dissections of what certain constructs mean. Thank you so much for introducing this book to me! It’s definitely one of the most transformative things I’ve read and has totally reframed how I see things and has provoked a ton of self-reflection as well. And in the short time since I’ve started reading it, it’s proven to be constantly relevant to the things I read/watch/see/do. I’ve enjoyed this book club so much, thanks for parsing out the text/your thoughts in these videos, and for always reading/replying to my GR comments, which is so kind of you :)

Do you ever compare your writing to other’s, especially your peers? I think I have a tendency to do this with my own writing. For instance, I’ll read an amazing short story or poem and feel like I’ll never be able to attain that level of skill. Also, just subscribed to your tiktok! Can’t wait for more episodes of writer or cider!!

omg yes!!!! all! the! time! but over the years i've found it a lot more helpful to reframe feelings of jealousy or inadequacy as inspiration or pride in my friends' accomplishments. there's definitely a term for this i can't remember right now, but basically retraining my brain to understand that just because someone else achieves something doesn't mean there's fewer opportunities for me, and vice versa. like it's just so much better to uplift each other! but i totally get what you mean....there are still moments where i find myself instinctively comparing my work with theirs (especially of a more distant peer), and then have to take a minute to talk myself out of that feeling.
