fucking sick, Milo
Fantastic art.
Rogers Art is hyper natural w organic architecture. & bio- mechanical. Long before term xenomorphes . Giger was influenced by seeing R Dean.EB
Have a look at his website he has a series of art lessons. Well worth a look.
Love the music (Tim Garland - Five Legged Spider) but can't see it on anything else but a digital only compilation
I have always loved the art of Ian Miller, i loved watching this video interview .
Lovely stuff.
l wish l know how his head creates these things, or where he gets his inspiration. Or if it is totally corrupted by chaos gods, and struggles every day no to descend to madness...
Legend.
A visionary artist and immensely talented draftsman.
Whose idiot idea was it to put that music on? I can't hear a word he's saying.
Should have hired him for elden ring .
He would have been brilliant. His work is currently in a cupboard in the Brighton Open Market.
What an interesting fella
He was a nice fella. Back on the road at present.
Awe is the word!
One of the great illustrators I have met.
One of the greats of fantasy art. One of my top 5.
A truer word never spoken.
Loved his Lovecraft covers.
All his work is unique. His latest Abstract stuff is out there.
I don't know if it's him, but if it's him, I met him on his yt channel or on someone else's channel where he makes bizarre animations.
Think it was called captain tardagrade. Can be found on you tube.
Definitely a different person but both Ian Millers are super talented!
@@xcryptopsyx are we sure its a different person?
@@gasstationgroceries The youtube animator is an american who used to work for adult swim.
Same here, after whatching this video i don't think it's the same person.
Arent you the one who made the Halo master piece?
Iva may have. Her work is amazing
I like his Warhammer 40,000 stuff
I would look at his latest work. Is good stuff.
I love his work!
Glad you like the work. He is an amazing artist.
What a legend. This guy is responsible for some much of the original chaos Demons and it’s just a small part of his portfolio.
Very nice work
He is a very talented artist. And the music is great too. Hope he is still up to it.
This was Brilliant , Thank you!
Thanks. Ian is an inspiring artist but also a genuine adventurer. He just enjoys everything.
Amazing but could have done without the music .Interested in what the artist had to say--not the noise.
People have said that. I like the noise.
Ian Miller, Tony Ackland, Martin McKenna and John Blanche. They are my favourite fantasy artists as a kid growing up in the late 80s. And together these 4 really created the aesthetics of early Warhammer Fantasy, particularly the Enemy Within campaign. I love their art. Sad to hear of McKenna taking his own life last year.
Sad news indeed. But Ian is still creating and going strong.
Since the early 80s, he's been one of my faves.
Glad to have been able to show you his work here.
Miller's work was one of the main reasons I got into Warhammer in the 80s. It just provokes so much thought and emotion! Eagerly waiting for his Grim Tarrock to arrive
He is a great artist and gentleman.
As someone who has practiced traditional art on a very technical standpoint for at least 13 years, this man is intimidating as all hell.
But as he says. Just pick up your pen and keep drawing.
I have Loved Captian Tardagrade like a Father Figure, he shows me the difference between Compasshin and Psychopathism
Captain Tardagrade was really odd. Very entertaining.
I'm so happy for this chance to experience Dave McKean. My favorite artist. Tops!
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully we will have new visionaries in the future.
@@TheArtistsStudio thanks! I really appreciate this.
Fascinating film about a fascinating and brilliant illustrator.
Hopefully we will be able to add more soon.
Fuck, I pretty much admire Milo in a apotheosic way.
I had to look that up.
So did I
Fascinating works. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hXt51KVvn9u2nso.html
He looks a lot like the people he draws
But he is a lot more congenial.
Great interview but that music.... 🤔
Sorry. I thought it worked well. My bad.
cool!
Sarathy is very cool. His work even more so.
I've been a fan of Ralph Bakshi's wizards since I was 5 (circa 1989), and loved the backgrounds, then a few months later, the same Aunt who introduced me to Bakshi and was a huge Tolkien fan introduced me to Tolkien and her copy of A Tolkien Bestiary by David Day which has some of Ian's most amazing work...although his style is completely different, he reminds me of Alex Grey in that his style is utterly unique and completely unlike anything else in existence... If Ian Miller did Tattoos, I'd want him to cover all my appendages
I am sure he has created tattoos. How big an appendage may be the issue. Thanks for watching.
Lovely series of artist portraits! Very inspiring!
Thanks Mandy. More will come as I get myself back into making them.
Pulling back from the spine of the book was a great decision. Much appreciated. I wish more publishers understood that and implemented it.
Roger is a true lover of both art and books. So it is natural that he would create the best quality products.
whats the songs name?
you’re so annoying please just shut up
A great concise insight, thanks. 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
great stuff!
"It was lucky, but you have to make the luck happen" Aaaah genius

Her work is incredible-I'm glad I found this video by accident!
It's a shame you had to find it by accident. But glad you watched.
genius
Huge fan ever since seeing his work as a kid in Magic the Gathering and Tolkein books from mid 90s !
Excellent video, thanks for putting this on YT. One of the best artists around so it is fascinating to hear his thoughts about the work such as Black Dog, theatre work and more. Definitely should be part of the gallery scene as well as bringing out all those amazing books (surely a few paintings in the Tate would not go amiss)
Thank you. He was very expansive and I am planning a second film about another section of his working life. Nice guy, great images.
@@TheArtistsStudio Thanks. The second film sounds great, looking forward to that (anything showing his working life would be appreciated).
