The brush module replacement is a scam. This should not fail. There are sites all over the internet discussing this and the rollers basically disintegrating quickly as well. I have never had a vacuum cleaner where this type of part wore out or had such a short life. Roomba is profiteering with these by engineering the materials to fail. The arms should be flexible as they hit furniture legs and walls and the gears should be durable and not strip. The motor should never die. I am returning my J8 and never trusting these miscreants again. I bought a Shark carpet cleaner and it is exceptionally well made. I am trying their machine. Roomba, you have lost a customer for good and everyone I can tell as well. You are so lame.

For those looking to buy this, it’s just a rebadged Xiaomi E10 from what I can tell. It has the same single brush as the Xiaomi, same bristles, same set bing and same mopping pad. I really wish iRobot would go back to their former glory..

I bought the J5 and I can say my area has never been cleaner. Even if I think its clean it still finds stuff that would not be picked up if I was doing it with my central every week
I have Roomba J9+ Combo & I've just done what it says in the video. I'm going to see if it fixes the problem, has it just keeps returning to the base, or going off & doing its own thing. Think my robot is a female one. It works when it wants to & then has a mood. Time of the month & all that!! haha 😄 🤣 😂 😆 😄

Get an ecovacs or roborock for half the price. Much better in every way. I’m selling my J7 and Braava after 6 months. The list of faults is endless. It doesn’t have lidar, weak battery, inefficient, no live maps, takes forever to clean my relatively compact downstairs, needs to recharge on 60 sq m vacuum so with mopping it takes over 3 hours to get it done. What a joke. A combo like mine is 1000 euros and it can’t even clean at night because…. It doesn’t have lidar and needs lights. Getting Ecovacs t9 and will have change to spare.
@@irobot well I’m sorry IRobot, I bought the j7+braava based on owning 690 model (or whatever it was called back then) and it was and still is ok. Technology moved on in those years and unfortunately your products are lagging behind. And the price of that combo is what I stated with discount. My j7 developed a battery fault within first 4 months and had to have a battery replaced which took approximately 12 days. I don’t know why the camera on the front doesn’t prevent robot from bumping against furniture, why it can’t double as a security camera as it does on another robot I own. And why does it take 3+ hours to vacuum and mop a 60 sq m space? And why oh why is the sidebrush only removable with a screwdriver? Cmon. That essential model, what’s the navigation on it? Does it have lidar or camera based navigation or is it just a step back to random bumping around like all those years back?

@@irobot I’m fine thanks, just discussing on the forums. You can’t turn it around as I’ve sold my roomba and braava after 6 months for half of what I paid for them and got a lidar robot. You don’t have the technology in your lineup to compete.
I’m selling my roomba j7 and braava mop combo after 6 months for half the price. And getting a lidar ecovacs. iRobot is hopeless. Weak battery, no real life mapping, no way to run it without lights, bad mapping, weak mopping, constant bumping into furniture with force, overpriced and most importantly it takes 3 hours to vacuum and mop my 60sq m downstairs! Over 3 hours! It’s so inefficient. I have ecovacs in another property and it is much much better especially with Ozmo pro mop.
Forgot to mention IT DOES NOT HAVE LIVE MAPS! This is a 1000 euro/dollar combo. You can get a flagship robot with everything for half that price. And it will be much much better.
I couldn’t get a good enough grip on the wheel casing to pull it out, so I used a jar opener for arthritic hands to grab it. Then it popped right out!

@@sebastienmolano it cleans ok but takes twice or 3 times the time to do it and has weak battery as well. Also lacks lidar so no live maps, no cleaning after dark unless you leave lights on etc.

Why can't I activate my combo bin on my i5? Scanned qr code, says it's preparing update but nothing happens. Can't use combo bin since the app says unable.
Do not consider Braava jet m6! Not even regular roomba. My Braava under warranty and the company refuses to receive and repair Braava that has a malfunction with smart maps.

How long does the schedule run?
Is this robot ideal for a small-ish apartment? 2 bed 2 bath. Mostly hard floor (except the rooms which are carpeted and have walk-in closets). Or is another model more ideal?

Roombas are junk and their support is even worse. They told me I would get a firmware downgrade, a week later they forgot and now going back through the entire troubleshooting process and they are also lying like crazy. Last iRobot product I will ever have.
