The Great man of Russia.or Dostoyevskii. Bertrand Russell considered St. Augustine to be a greater writer than Tolstoy, but Tolstoy's descriptive power is remarkable.

Never heard so much bunk about the shroud of Turin. There’s an imprint because Jesus’s body was full of skin oil, sweat, blood and treated with so many things after his death, which is why there was an image imprint.

Quand on pense que Pound pensa avoir touché du doigt la quintessence de la vérité politique et économique dans le fascisme et le nazisme : le duce suspendu à une corde égorgé comme un cochon résume la folie idéologique esthétisante délirante de Pound !

Pound tried oh so hard to craft important poetry. Most of the time he failed. He was important in the history of poetry because he helped Eliot and Joyce and Yeats.

if Jesus is gone from India, then why persecute the Christians. Jesus story doesn't start from his birth to death, or New testament, it starts from the very first words of the Bible.

Let’s ask - why systematic conversion of people of India by Christian missionary? As per this research, it is clear Jesus went to India and learned the Hindu scriptures and Buddhism, gained the wisdom that he taught to people when he went back.

Thanks very much for the upload, S.P. Ward! It's a great movie, creative and at the same true to Beethoven's spirit, I believe (the blending of nature with human destiny). Florestan, Rocco, Jaquino and Marzelline are acted by the actual singers.

I remember reading this probably around the time it was first published and only just came across it again and found who the author was! And to hear the writer actually reciting it is fantastic! I was sure this was something much, much older. The line “sleep and her sister death” always stuck with me. I love the imagery and idea of that statement alone. I know this poem was in “The Hymns of Arcanus” and according to a search, that was published in 2004. Was that the original publish date for this poem?

  • @StevenParrisWard

Thank you for your kind remarks and interest. The Hymns of Arcanus originally appeared in an academic imprint in 2004 and has since undergone a number of additions, changes and emendations in later editions. Many poems were added as "other poems" in various editions. I believe this particular poem was added in 2013. I believe Walt Whitman employed the same kind of approach in Leaves of Grass. His later publications of the work being quite different from the original earlier published editions. Peace be with you. 🙏
