    Ditching the levelwind will add an easy 10 yards to your cast. It's got friggin ball bearings after all. It's NOT just an up and down reel!

    I know you're not supposed to give away your spots but where are some good places to fish for catfish in NJ? My friend and I recently became owners of Rusty’s Baits and Lures. I live in Jersey City and he lives in Edison so we've been looking for places to do some "r and d" with our bait.

    I got them as well. Do you have to tighten the middle nut for the rod holder itself by hand or with a tool for it to stay snug? I tightened by hand but when trolling and a fish hits it comes loose

    The level wind on a Rover 70 has caught big AJ's, Red snapper and red grouper the past 3 yrs with zero problems. If you like a level wind... keep it on a Rover. They're tough. They're Not like other LW reels.

    Great video and you are so right. I don’t know why people give out there spots. They are crazy. Go spend time on the water and figure it out yourself . People want everything easy nowadays. I been using a app for about 5 years now just because I like to post pics. And look at other nice fishing pics. On this app I never give out my spots. Cheers bud nice video

    When I fish big baits for big fish I want a Shimano TLD 50 with 2 Speed or a Penn Squall 2 Speed at minnimum but feel better with an Avet 80W 2 Speed these reels have the power and linebcapacity for the real beasts

  • @jimpresley-oldfishingfool261
    @jimpresley-oldfishingfool26111 ай бұрын

    It's better that way but the guys at Kastking really don't get it. The cage is still riveted and inadequate. It needs to be a solid one piece cage with the foot part of the one piece. Also there is no under the rod secondary clamp to handle extreme pressures that most rod reel seats can't handle. I have seen way to many reels detach themselves from the rod under the pressure of a real beast 7 or 8 feet long and 500 lbs weight. This reel just won't cut it for big game

    Love this. kzread.infoUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend Got it a couple weeks ago hated having to wait almost 2 weeks to get it out fishing. This pole is one of our new catfish poles. It stood up quite well today. It casts great. It reels smoothly. The pole is easily collapsible. friend ended up catching only one fish because we didn't have too long to fish, and he reeled it in easily. Good buy. Hubby is happy so I am happy! Looking forward to warmer temps so we can spend more time playing with it!

    I get what your saying. It's like the assholes who play game apps but log in through a cheat spot and steal your time, steal your coins or whatever and make your game glitch. It's like how is that skill?! I don't play game apps but my boyfriend does so I have to listen to his vexing. With fishing it's about being one with the fish, the water and the area your at. Reading the surroundings, the time of season, the time of day and the temp and depth of water and current to the type of fish your looking to catch and with which bait. It's finesse. It's patience. It's NOT about having and app give you all the info you need, all of the tips and tricks and 'cheats' to catch a fish! It's like having a hunting guide bring you to Cecil the world-renowned lion who is old and laying down and shooting him and calling yourself a hunter!! All of these things defeat the whole ideal. It's cheating and disrespectful to the creatures and the whole cycle of life. Makes my blood boil.

    Did the same just wanted a cheaper reel for a back up. Bull's tend to beat reels up pretty good lol. But I put the backing and braid on first before I took the level wind off it makes life a little easier 😅.

    From someone that got into fishing with their grandpa and now has passed and I have no one to help me with fishing, I would say Fishbrain is not that bad I understand your point of view but it has helped me a bit to get back into fishing and learning what I should use to help me be a little more successful.

    It’s the year 2023, fishing has been around since the beginning of man. We shouldn’t need a license to provide food for ourselves. Ppl do need to have a respect for nature repopulation so we don’t burn out a resource. I think Fishbrain does a good job of getting out information. It seems like the main problem ppl have with the app is have fast the information gets out to more ppl. I never was one to hog up a fishing spot. I love going to different states to fish.

    The 7 foot heavy are good rods . 8 lb salmon and nice channel cat do good on the heavy rod . I have not tried the medium heavy like he broke yet . I am going to get the medium 7 foot inshore rod next . I own 2 of the 7 foot heavy rods . They are nice rods . I put high boy baitfeeding reels on them . I bought them on clearance on wallmart website about $6 cheaper than temu . I have thes baitfeeders in 2000 and 4000 . They are great baitfeeders for cheap . Most my rods are lamiglas, g loomis and a few akumo . Only a few akuma rods because they just dont match up to lamaglas or g loomis . kzread.info6XQtRO8ckH4?si= 5:55
