Some of the most interesting conversations happen over beers. This channel features conversations between Datameer founder, Stefan Groschupf, and various technical big data thought-leaders as they talk about whatever is interesting to them at the moment. Stefan also joins Andrew Brust, Datameer's senior director of market strategy and intelligence sharing some of their thoughts around market hot topics in our off-shoot Playlist, "Mind Melds."

May be lower down on the alcohol next time. The explanation was not helpful at all. He just blabbered away! 😂
Thank u sooo much sir it helped me for my presentation
It's horrible!!
The interviewer read some architecture of Hbase and it took some days to start the interview. So brain started to bring bits and pieces he read. "ref: Queen"
Is big data governance important at the initiation stage of a data governance program?
What happened to this channel? Cool idea.
Very simplified explanation, but it will stick to many folks who just needs the fundamentals. thank you. The blackboard in bar setup was brilliant.
And now Zookeeper is out in new Kafka release.
Drain the (data) Swamp!
Heard of Drunk driving, not drunk teaching.
Went to the internet after trying to comprehend a full-blown paper explaining all the details about HBase, stumbled upon this.. I guess can write a better vid after my 2 hours with the paper I'm reading)
English is not my first language, so I find it extremely difficult to understand a conversation that is poorly recorded. The reverb in this room makes the sound too muddy and hard to understand. Please try lavalier microphones, or at least put the microphone directly on the table. Also, there are noise filters that you can use in post-production.
they are obviously drunk
The way I always see it, the Data Lake is a source of information you can use for analysis, decision-making, reporting or what have you. The Data Rivers are the way you move data from one system, solution or platform towards your Data Lake. A Data River is essentially stateless and does not necessarily persist data.
Like the beer!
did he explain anything?
Some yes, it was all in a sarcastic way.
... love these sessions, and the form of the chats... where have they gone, notice all are like 2-3 yrs old, surely there has been enough development to have some refresher talks.
too much hand wavy, random things coming out of Jay.
Cool way of writing your letter D
No doubt he is a genious mind but man this was not well explained lol
Is nobody going to comment on how weird he write his D's?
fuck each other ................. loosers
Hmmm... Still I don't really know what Kafka is and what problem it solves. What was the original need/ what did the guys hope to get out of this new system?
Pro tip: you can watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.
@Terrell Kristopher Definitely, been watching on flixzone for months myself =)
this is shit
"Uma Barata Chamada Kafka", *Inimigos do Rei*
Voice is not clear
Maybe because of the beer.
Suggestion for future videos, put lapel microphones on anybody speaking, I'm listening to this through headphones and there's so much background noise and echos coming from the room. Good audio adds so much professionalism to videos.
That's how complicated things should be explained... Real simple... Need more videos
at least i see one +ve comment :)
auto subtitle generate german to english!!!!!!! plz check and correct it if you can
SPARK IS NOT TO REPLACE HADOOP
Is the guy slurring? Maybe a beer too much lol
you both don't know anything
he wrote bs ...:D
lol.. nice meetings )))
jiggle jiggle
This is an ideal example of how well known concepts have been methodically utilized to come up with a top quality tool that can be used to handle massive data.
Really enjoyed the video. Exquisite analysis! But I think the title is a bit misleading and puts blame on the Bourne series.
Does not seem like this guy developed Kafka. Looks like he just the poster child of Kafka.
the worst video I've ever watched
There's so many rabbit holes in explaining, I still struggle.
Beer and Big Data, excelent idea!
Sorry, I didnt find this too helpful...
Really an Irish Pub talk and after you have many beers, not a good way of explaining the concept , do not waste your time please
I have come here to check what is inside the bottle! beer?
"It's just a table.. billions of rows... and split into regions.." simple, down-to-earth explanation :)
Thank you.
ha ha queen. great :)
good beers, Li'l Sumpin Sumpin Ipa :)
too slow in presenting and the depth of content is also very shallow.
