Taronga Zoo Sydney

Taronga Zoo Sydney

Taronga Conservation Society Australia is a not-for-profit conservation organisation and a leader in the fields of wildlife research, rehabilitation and conservation as well as animal welfare and environmental education.

Our staff, scientists and researchers are experts in their fields, working in partnership with governments, universities and other partners to support conservation projects around the world.

Taronga participates in regional and global conservation breeding programs to establish insurance populations for species threatened in the wild, from Australia’s critically endangered Corroboree Frog to the Southern Black Rhino.

Taronga’s two zoos, Taronga Zoo in Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, create experiences for its 2 million guests that inspire lasting connections between people and wildlife.

Through education programs, community engagement and environmental campaigning, we're working to create the next-generation of conservation champions.

More virtue signalling bullshit to make us feel guilty about living on the county that we were born in.

The strength of a circus was the number of Elephants. What is a Zoo without Elephants ? A menagerie. With the establishment of the Western Sydney Zoo ,this could be part of a bigger picture . Most people go to were they can see a real ELEPHANT. Growing up in the 50's ,I have seen many changes at Taronga..

Pretty bloody good. I like turtles. Wouldn't be a bad idea to put the tips from the description up as text on the video. Not many people read the description I've found.

About felling timber in our very small amounts of nature reserves , I think that more native trees be planted in empty lands and selective logging be done there instead of pine trees from other countries be used in plantations being clear felled, Australia has people who can mill on sight so less destruction occurs so with making more natural areas we make more habitats for wildlife, and have more timber instead of total destruction with mining for iron and other metals used for making stuff, the greens party rejected this idea because their hands are in the pockets of clear felling and mining companies

Dingos are introduced. Why are you referring to them as natural apex predator?

I mean, he did say them more reffering to being top canines in general. But even if they're introduced, they're still the closest thing Australia has to a mega fauna predator post-45k years, barring humans that is.

Dingoes have been here for over 12,000 years. The have earnt their right to be called a natural apex predator. People who make comments like you have such very small minds. Animals evolve, shame that humans don't.

I love hearing a soothing voice detailing wonderful things done for the dogs while the dogs, on screen during this narration, are ripping apart chunks of flesh. This is why I love these videos, the juxtaposition.
