Worthless video. Not enough information.
TBH, I didn't know they sell rolls with both ends sticking out like that
Thanks for the info....but please start by saying that only people that are somewhat experienced with a live panel should try this test 😮
I’m 29 years old, and I wish I would’ve known about apprenticeships.
Starting that early beats traffic so that's nice
The electrician cut your load Bering stud/plumbing again do this one simple trick
I tried this and it didn’t work and my paper ended tearing
Im not a sparkey by trade, but grew up doing electrical work and actually wanted to do it as a career, but went into cy er security. My new house i had built in 2019, my master bedroom had bad electrical issues. Thankfully i took pics of everythhg and knew where my home run was. And it turns out half way on thr line, the electrician hooked up the hot abd neutral lines to a switced outlet when it was fes direct to the box. So that means half way thru, the second half of my wire, the electricity had 2 highways to get aroubd and back. This caused all kinds of power surginf and lights pulsing and tv going out when boxfan turned on and rhe afci random flipping. Cut out that second hot leg in the circuit and boom. Its perfect now!!!
Tried putting these in oven 1 time for supper....didn't turn out so well
Totally disagree. Tic testers fast way of telling you if you're in for a world of pain or not
Its to store your stash in
The reason the reading is "jumping around" is because you are holding both leads with your hands and your body is acting as a capacitor because you are mostly made out of water with salt in it. Take the reading without holding BOTH leads (press the one down against the spool or something) and the reading won't "jump around" and you will get an accurate reading. FYI - the longer you hold both leads the more inaccurate it will get.
Good explanation
WTF is a feet?
Thank you so much man, just starting electrical school and this video helped me understand better.
Heaps of rolls have how many feet/ meters left written right on the cable…
Or just go to elementary school and learn about resistance in wire
I had my house rewired with all new 15k 50yrs old house 300amp I think one big panel 1326 sf
👎
Science=gangster shit! I agree.
You are a nice guy but sorry your very wrong and only thinking like an electrician talking to other electricians. The “sniffers” are accurate to everyone on the jobsite. Especially the ones you don’t want fiddling with electrical anything. The only other tool you have that also helps but only for outlets is the plug in tester. All that other stuff should only be used by people who know what they are and how to properly use them.
Tell me how to measure an aluminum coil stock roll, could you take the diameter of your coil and measure how many complete circle you have?
No I’m disagreeing with you on sit down while doing your work. I have back and knee problems where a mini stool can fix that problem. I don’t understand why do people get so fire up about sitting down while working.
thank you for sharing
That one with the red and blue levers reminds me of the red, blue, green and yellow breakers that I remember mobile homes had installed in them. Update: Something told me to get one Google and try and find out who made said breakers I've seen in mobile homes in the 90s. Seeing USED Zinsco breakers for sale on eBay sent a major chill up my spine.
This brings back almost PTSD levels of stress running conduit as a new electrician...by the end of my tenure Id stick my rare earth magnet upgraded level to the end and bend it bit by bit until it's level on the end. I can tell you forced that offset in a little bit. I remember refinishing hundreds of pieces of conduit once because my superintendent didn't like the offsets. Cudos for making content though, we need more tradesman.
Shouldn’t the 3 phase panels take 4 4/0 not 3..
Identify your panels with a label maker like a professional
If your employer expects you to buy these levels of tools, it's time to find a new employer. It's a waste of money for homeowners and DIY to buy these tools you are pushing.
I missed where you talked about properly torquing the screws on the plug and what torque screwdriver do you use.
I've got another sharpie trick that apparently neither the electrician nor previous owners of my house knew about: that big sticker with the lines on it? yeah you can write on that to mark what part of the house each of the breakers goes to. Crazy!
The most important part of this process, is getting the wifes toothbrush back in the holder before she notices that it's gone.
Nothing gangster here
The diffence between an offset for the box and just straight in is that the offset looks professional.
More like 18A on a 20 but get the point
Did he turn the conduit quickly at the end then cut the video?
Everything about American electrical hardware and technique is so shit compared to the first world. Same for their building standards.
And you do want to put steady pressure on it so you don'tkink it jerky motions with the Vander will cause a kink for a ripple
The extra 5 inches or 6 in depending on the thickness of the pipe is for the radius of the 90
When you're comfortable you can flip the thing upside down and have the pipe bender pipe on the floor standing up if you will put the Bender up in the air and need to spend it with your hand that's when you are piping a 13 story condo after a couple of stories of 20 units on each one you start not even needing a measuring tape😊😊
That looks like EMT and that's not a living room is electrical metallic tubing not aluminum
For a half inch pipe you at 5 in for 3/4 6 inches for a half inch you add 5 inches for the radius for 3/4 you at 6 in for the radius East benders should tell you that on the side of the Bender
Dude I'm 100% with you the right tools get the job done every f****** time
What is wrong with the connector in the belly to the ballast provided by the manufacturer... Legos are one hit and quit it it bends the tab tin that carries the current 277 in the Walmart you referred will not be a sound mechanical connection used twice.. I've seen them melt and burned from reuse. I'll twist the wires on current conductors and lego for bonding pigtails, but the same scenario, except there's a shock Hazzard there. Twisted Green nuts are better.. then the hole profit margin issue $1 vs $.25 each. < bet you pivk up lego before reds>
They fuss over how many cables through a hole, but completely ignore the general outdatedness of the American electricity system as a whole.
If all the gfci / afci breqkers are plug on neutral, how do you protect the pig tails so they don't accidentally touch something?
Still don't look the part
Don't tell me what I want and don't want
Don't forget to titanite set screw down
The ones around here just show up and blame it on something else. And say to call that other company. Rather than just fix the fucking issue
