I wonder why the battery indicator is not lit?
Hi, that's because the cluster is not in the car, and the pins we connected to power it up on the test bench do not send signals to the battery indicator to light up.

I can assure everybody here that the LCD sold by MiniTools does the job. Took me a couple of months to work up the energy to take on a task like this but I can attest to the fact that this works on a 1998 Sportster. I didn't remove ALL the wires like this, just loosened them up so that I could remove the clear plate under the faceplate. It was a bit of a hassle, had to remove the bolts and lift the tank, cut all the zip ties holding the wiring harness in place so that I could disconnect the power block for the speedometer and pull it through enough so I could work on the speedo on a table I had set up near the bike. Hardest part was getting the bezel off. Annoying that they don't show it here but there are plenty of videos online that show how to do it. My speedometer stopped working at 3,000 miles and now I know it has 5,175... who knew! It's still crazy low for a bike that is over 25 years old but now I know and now I can finally get it legally inspected. I love the fact that the packaging for the LCD screen was 265 times larger than the screen itself and that the invoice shows that it comes from China... it was probably overpriced about 265 times as well, but now I can inspect my bike and read the screen!

@@giuseppedemasi881 Salve, sostituendo lo speaker il messaggio d'errore sparirà automaticamente dal display e l'auto tornerà a svolgere le varie funzioni correttamente. In diagnosi l'errore potrebbe apparire anche dopo la sostituzione dello speaker, dipende da caso a caso.

Simply brilliant! It took me four tries, but the closer I studied the outstanding, detailed video, the more confident I became! Then, IT WORKED because I had not properly placed the two conductive pads properly on the sides! This was a miracle that, from what others have said, would have cost me a $1,000 at the dealer or my specialty shop. I did it for $50 and about three hours of easy work over two days (I ran out of enthusiasm on the first day). Thank you SO much!

does it matter where the needle points when putting it back in
That depends, some instrument clusters will bring automatically the needle back in the correct position, but we recommend to always bring them back to the original position manually.

How can flux damage the board irreversibly??
Hi, the fluxing liquid should be used with caution. If applied in excess in areas with narrow spaces where it is difficult to remove it, a residual excess of flux could cause short circuits between the conductor tracks and damage them.

This plastic ribbon cable is a pain in the neck, can you please make another video of the adhesive you are using etc, a well elaborated video and the tool you used to press that flat cable. Thanks in advance.
Hi, our flat cables release a sort of glue themselves when heated and pressed with the soldering tip, so they get sealed to the glass and to the PCB. You need to clean the contacts with solvent, just place the cable properly on the board and press it several times with the T tip at 350° as shown in the video.

@@harveythedeveloper6347 yeah. Ive read something online about something was overheating and that you need to wait 6-7 days. Didn’t believe it at first, but I’ve waited 6 days and the issue was gone💪 Hopefully it will be the same for you in about 1 week!
@jordis8225 I just managed to fix it by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it again. As I thought, that might have the same effect bingo.

So the canbus genarator isn't necessary for repair, just testing?
No, it's not necessary for the repair but it's necessary for powering the cluster up on a test bench.

Hi, I have a MB 300 SE year 1992 with 3200 gas engine, I have some odometer malfunctioning which I believe is due to some broken gears. Do you supply a set of spare gears for the repair of the unit? The clock is also not functioning and I want to repàir it too. Do you have a clock unit for replacement as spare?
Hi, on our website we have gears for several Mercedes models, including 300 SE. However, you should identify which gears are worn first, disassembling the cluster, and then get the correct replacements. Could you please send us an e-mail at [email protected], explaining the problem, with pictures of the instrument cluster and of the worn gears? Our technical support will help you identify the correct replacements for your odometer. The same appies for the clock, so could you please attach pictures of it as well?
