The fact that EMD F units are still utilized is a testament to just how good they are. In the end, even though people say that Modernization is the future, when modern technology breaks down, the tried and proven will come back to aid the new. In simplest terms "If it ain't broke, DON'T fix it."

We are the Santa Clara river valley road historical society will used to work very closely with the film warned Western to host rail fast every year,If you are interested in more Fillmore and Western content we have Some old videos of the Fillmore Western operating in the 90s

I have went to the Fillmore & Western Railroad back in September 2020. A year before it closed down. I hope all the equipment will find a new home. I know that Fillmore & Western 1059 (A S6 built by ALCO in June 1956), was one of them and I have rode behind it back then at the F&W.

Usually the diesels are for "hotel power", or to power the train through tunnels so the steam crew isn't half-choked by stack gasses, or to provide dynamic braking downhill.

Very cool video. At 9:24, when BB enters the Beaumont Hill coverage, I was one of those people standing along the tracks to witness the massive machine climb the grade. I will never forget how loud and massive it was and now, thanks to your video, I can come back and relive the extraordinary experience over and over.

I see the pentrex narrator Dave Drui narrated this, nice touch. Still, it sure is a shame this tourist line shut down, it's where I got to see a standard gauge steam engine in operation for the first time when I made my 2 visits to them in 2019. Still, glad I got to visit when I can.

Usually it means proceed at medium speed, prepared to stop at the next interlocking - but it depends on the railroad, or even the territory.
