I am doing deep research on Eastern European food (Hungary region, Ukraine region..etc) before 16th century, specially before the discovery of the New World. Nowadays all the EE food are using spices from the New World. The only thing I found is Salo, so I found this video. Wish to know more about it : ( I read it somewhere that medeival EE people used Salo as oil source a lot for cooking too.
