Thank you! The clerk didn't remove the security tag, and I live far away. This was the first answer about removing the tag that actually made sense. Though mine looked different, this basic method worked!
What in the hell is this guy trying to show me? Loud noise and fumbling?
I tried to send it online to Officeworks so they can put it in a binder but it says the file is password protected, some further investigation show me I can open it and print on my own printer but I have no copy permission so I can’t upload it to an online service. I could put it on a flash drive and take it to the counter as long as they print directly and not upload it into their program (I’m making assumptions here). A Canon camera manual got the same error message.
My Cobra 18 wx st has an issue where the weather works loud and clear but it will not receive or transmit any CB. Could I somehow mail this to you and pay to have it repaired?
The Jfet I believe crosses to a NTE 133 SGD pin out may be different. The other transistors are all 2N3393 . I also think once aligned a 9v battery would be fine in place of the 8.4 .
It would be just great if The Com 3 could handle ssb as well
Thank you. You took us by the hand. Easy, to the point and thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience. 73
Interesting video! de W2CSI
POOR photography. Be ashamed, VERY ashamed.

Great video and lots of useful tips. My S meter doesn’t move when I transmit. Not sure the problem
Glad your video is still up. I had not used phone in a while and the Data Off Mod was set to USB. Great help. Thank you. AE9R
Hi Peter. I was given a TS430. Deceased estate, It was left in a cold damp basment before I got it. It starts OK, lots of noise from the speaker Desplay reads OK, PROBLEM, the Mode selector will NOT work and is stuck in FM mode. Touching the other mode buttons gets a slight change in noise light shows up in that position, BUT jumps back to the FM mode, when button is released. I tried the relay cleaning trick and did a reset, to NO avail . Looks to be putting out full power and meter needle moves to full scale into a dummy load. Any ideas what to look at next please.
I would like to second that it is important to let your radio warm up for 30 minutes or more before doing this adjustment. Mine drifts a bit from cold to warm. My radio was not dead on from the factory. It was probably off 20 or 30 cycles per second. Thanks for the video!! Robert K5TPC
What version of chirp are/is you/he using?
Hi, when I transmit, I no longer see that reddish spike that shows on the scope when I transmit. What do I do in order to see it? Thanks
Can u show us, how to instal driver icom for ic-v88?
Kindly advise: I extracted the output filter board of a TS-430S to work on it. Issues: 1. Intermittent low rx (probably "dirty" relays). It appears they are all sealed (except the tx/tx relay). I tried using a "wetting voltage" as described in a Kenwood service bulletin, but there is still intermittent loss of rx, especially on 10m. 2. One of the inductors (L41) is shorted. 3. How do you test a diac (D18)? (It reads short circuit in both directions.) Apparently it is for overload/surge protection. 4. The S meter reads extremely low. I failed to recalibrate S9 (even with the trim at maximum, it doesn't reach 9).
Hi good afternoon, I have the same tuner but I does not tune with the preamp on and if I tune a frequency with the att on, when I transmit with the pream the tuner think that iam tuning again, what can I do?
I just downloaded and installed Chirp for the 1st time. It is version 20240224, and it does NOT have a "detect" option for the radio model. I'm trying to use it with my 7610 on Com3 with a standard USB cable that works with my other software. I made sure that Omnirig was not running. The download function flickers as if it's going through the motions, but does not read the channels from the radio.
Many congrats from user Icom-7300! de UA3NDX, Anton
I receive a “radio identification failed” error. How can I get part that?
I find I need to power on the 993 after I power on the 7300 or the tuner doesn't work. Is there some setting I have missed? Thanks for the video.
thanks for this video. i know its been a long time ago, but i have a question.. i haave a similar unit, and recently got an rf amp, so this tuner cannot handle the power output... the question is can i have two tuners, this one and a HFT-1500 connected together plus that amp into a MFJ 1700C Switch? and how could i do this with the ICOM 7300
Why two turners ?
I have tried several times to download your file but have not gotten the login link from the server. Is there another way to get the file? Thank you for doing this. I hope I will be able to check my system soon!
Thanks, Very helpful video!
4:20 was my exact problem. I wondered why nobody can hear me lol. I was tryign to setup the Icom remote software (which failed to work btw). Thanks for the tip sir!
I have the same cobra 🐍 19 same problem 😢😢😢😢😢
❤❤❤❤
You can buy my 138 xlr 😅😅😅😅it’s a virgin 😢😂😂😂
What is the best method to program? USB or something else?
Thanks... I needed to know how to do this to know I have properly loaded my Collins 30L-1
I thought my radio was broken until I watched your video! The Mic was not on and it was set to USB. Thanks so much!
Why is it not good for the solid "dot" on the oscilloscope to be one the screen too long when you are in the "trap" mode? Sometimes my old oscilloscope malfunctions and the dot is on there for a long time before I notice it's loose contacts in the switches and I have to move the switch to get the sweep line to come back, lol. maybe this will cause damage to my display screen?
I don't see the two tones that you are using, I'm thinking that one of the tones is 1000Hz? I did a fast online search and it shows 700 and 1900Hz here is the quote "The standard two tone test applies two audio frequency tones to the transceiver microphone from a quality sinusoidal generator at approximately 700 and 1900Hz. The exact audio frequency is not critical other than they cannot be harmonically related and should be sufficiently separated with in the audio band pass." So I guess you could play around with the two frequencies in this case as long as they don't match in "harmonics" and that would most likely be visible on the scope monitor as a merging type image.
It sounds like you say “ testing on 2 3” at the end of your transmission. Can you explain that to me?
The noise sconce, Once you didn't explain what that was the Vid made no sense to me.
In my area we have multiple repeaters with the same frequency and differnt CTSS tones and I have them programmed as seperate memory channels with the frequency/CTSS pairs. Put another way, in my current configuration I have multiple channels and there may be the same frequency that has different CTSS tones. Currently the only available options I see and have set each channel as: Tone Mode = TSQL Tone Squelch = CTSS Tone frequency# Speaker Mute = Tone/DTCS (I don't use Optsig) For the radio I have the basic setting SC-MOD = Off Currently when I start memory scanning, the radio will stop scanning on the first channel that has a carrier detected (independent of the associated CTSS tone received) and the squelch will also not open (can't hear the transmission) if the CTSS doesnt happen to match. What I want the radio to do is scan memory channels until a channel frequency AND the specific CTSS assigned is received and then to resume scanning when the carrier with tone stops transmitting on that channel.
I have a problem that is causing me to consider sending the 7300 in for repair. Let me explain. When I transmit, the receiver doesn't go to the receive mode immediately afterwards. It normally takes 5-10 seconds to hear the frequency again. Any ideas?
MY IC-7300 will not format any sd card have several brand new no matter which way card lock switch is set it tells me card is locked WT_?
I was out of town and saw a possibility of storms so foolishly asked XYL to disconnect the coax. She took it on herself to disconnect everything. Now I have power and sound but no transmission heard on any band. What has happened? KG5RVR
My gosh, you have saved me. I'm new with the 7300 and you spared me a bunch of stress. Thank you.
Bought my (used) 7300 just this weekend and after years and years of Yaesu rigs I found out that it takes quite a lot of "study" to get used to this one. But your videos surely help a lot. And it's a great rig anyway. Thanks very much. Hein, pd7tm.
Dont have the room but I do have a half rhombic i put up for special occasions
I have a Tempo One and need to troubleshoot the power supply (don't even know if the RADIO works!!) I powered it up on a variac, but as soon as I got to 50 volts, one of the big honking resistors on that resistor board burned up!!! Do you have a video on troubleshooting/repair of the AC 1power supply? Anyone in KZread land know what I need to do next?? Is it fixable, or something that's pure unobtanium?? As common as these radios seem to be, there's NO VIDEOS ON THE POWER SUPPLY???
I have set-up edges to differentiate the digital portion of the bands from the phone segments. How can filter #2 be automatically applied to the phone segments & filter #3 be automatically applied to the digital segments of the bands ? TU, jack; K4LRH
How about not functioning touchscreen buttons
Now my radio is clicking constantly, switching frequencies to 200 band, BUT I removed those! HELP! And why is it AUTO switching from power up?? I have the BTECH UV-24X4 2nd Ed.
I've had quite a few radios over the years and my IC-7300 is the closest on frequency of any radio I've had. I'm going to leave it alone for now.
