    Girl omg! I can attest to everything you said! I met the most handsome Costa Rica man at the beach(he was selling jet ski tours and lived in Brasilito) when I was staying at the W resort in Guanacaste and he literally swept me off my feet and love bombed me hard. We had amazing times together, he showed me places that tourists would not know about, we went in the most amazing adventures, he taught me how to surf and brought me to his house to meet his family. I could not believe that people live in such conditions, he was really poor and his house was a slum which he lived in with another 8 family members and although he never asked me for money outright, I paid for everything when we were together, restaurants, tours, shopping, groceries cause I felt sorry for him. I did go back 2 more times to see him but I started getting these gut feelings that he was not being honest with me and I’m so naive to think that he is waiting for me while I’m in Canada although he professed his love to me every day lol And there is no way I wanted to be a sugar mama to a man who is same age as me(we are both 30) and just content being a beach bum. I had to let him go and he was so mad😂

    You must consume Casado only if not beans. Because 1000$ a month is very conservative

    I think it would have been a lot more helpful if you used dollars to convert the cost instead of the local currency so people who are interested in going will have an idea of the cost.

    Hello! Looks delicious, I had some for the first time today at a Nicaraguan restaurant. One question- if I use canned black beans, will the juice in the can work, or do I really need to buy dry black beans? PS- i ordered the Lizano off Amazon for $6. Thanks!!

  • @EmmainCostaRica
    @EmmainCostaRica11 күн бұрын

    Nice! Thank you - You can use black beans, but the flavor will not be the same! Home cooked beans have a very particular flavor, especially when cooked with the seasonings, etc!

    I made it and it was really delicious! The Nicaraguan restaurant by us introduced me to it. Mine was a light brown, but I used canned beans this time, will go with the dried next time. Thanks and great video- subscribed!

    Hi Emma Thanks for this very informative video. I live in Montreal and for the most part people here are a lot more friendly than those in Toronto. I`ve only been to Toronto a few times and I find the people there so cold and unfriendly. All they seem to care about is how much money you make .Anyway thanks for this video Emma and I was wondering when you would post a new video it`s been a long time. By the way your life will change a lot after your baby is born .

    Happy 4 years of Emma in Costa Rica, Emma! I remember coming across your channel on Reddit and your channel was in its early stages and I was in the middle of planning a trip to CR! Que tuanis to see the growth and the improvement in quality of your videos and content throughout the years. And to be able to do a photoshoot with you and seeing you in person for the first time, it was an awesome experience. Looking forward to more updates and content coming later this year for you. Hope you and Luis are doing well and wishing you a great future ahead :) Timestamp comments: 2:29 Interesting to hear that Emma. I agree with that it's not necessarily good nor bad either to have a mindset of getting something done later. That is, a lack of urgency but I think that can at least help us think a little more rationally in what we want to prioritize. At the end of day, what we choose to delay or I guess procrastinate comes with consequences that we have to deal with by making those choices. 3:50 I like that you have accustomed to removing the instant gratification mindset since living in CR. It definitely trains you to practice more patience and lively day by day (as you mentioned in point #1) 6:55 Right, as in there's no need to keep up with the latest trends or keep up with the Jones's. You live your own life and to learn to appreciate the little things in your life, which is a great thing that you have ingrained. About the financial status point you made, I can see that. In a country like Canada and the States, people tend to judge based on your financial merit which I am guilty of doing. But it's always to step back and realize that money isn't everything and that you are what you make out of your life 8:16 Good point, although I just think of all of the aggressive drivers in CR that gave me a bit of anxiety while driving in a rental car. Not sure if they take good care of their own cars based on their driving LOL 9:54 It's good that you take good care of yourself and to make sure you are healthy. You tend to feel a lot better physically and emotionally, so that's great my friend :) 10:47 It's true. I was in Toronto back in October 2023 for a cousin wedding and me and my siblings were walking along some trail nearby the wedding venue. We saw a young couple walking along the opposite side of the trail and here in the States, it's typical to greet other hikers. But as I was about to greet them, they just stared at me and my siblings blankly, kind of with a cold stare like you mentioned and I told myself "Oops, this is Canada, not the US..." haha, so it was funny when you said that because it reminded me of that time in Toronto. 13:00 I think that's the mentality we tend to have when living a different country for some time, which is good because when you move to a different country, you have to adjust to a different culture than back home. It's the reason we travel. We want to open our minds and sometimes you end up discovering and experiencing opportunities you would not have done otherwise 17:46 I can see that for sure. In general, freelancers and business owners or just people who can work flexibly as opposed to a standard 9-5 or similar, have different schedules. They say loneliness is quite common nowadays and it can be difficult to enjoy your own company sometimes because having that face to face connection with peers or friends are always nice to spend time with. It's good that you do manage it for the most part :) 19:30 I hear ya, I'm mostly the same as you. Sometimes even meteorologists can't even predict the weather correctly even though their job is to do that haha, so it's like that we waste time trying to being on top of what the weather will be to end up finding out the weather isn't aligned with the predictions

    Hi! I would recommend flying into San Jose and driving/shuttling down to the Central/South Pacific area - here there is a great mix of beaches and forests, waterfalls and wildlife!! You could also do a day or two closer to San Jose at the beginning or end of your trip to visit either Poas or Irazu Volcano!

    South America in general has a more "Machismo" type of society. I certainly wouldn't date anyone who can't sustain themselves. And, I don't believe in transactional relationships. I like things to happen organically between two people who are mentally, spiritually, and financially stable.

  • @EmmainCostaRica
    @EmmainCostaRica20 күн бұрын

    Yes, there definitely is more "machismo" here in CR, it can be quite the difference for people from other cultures! I agree that it takes two to make a thing go right, otherwise, its very lopsided!

    I honestly think Costa Rica has “jumped the shark” there’s too many other countries with equal natural beauty and more culture and things to do in Latin America. Plus, with the massive increase in crime CR has lost its main attraction, “peaceful paradise” I almost got shot by stray bullet at a restaurant last week in Santa Teresa of all places! For that I might as well live in Colombia for 1/4 of the price
