Property taxes are sky high. Traffic is terrible.
Retired to Granbury 10 yrs ago. Nice town. I like living here. The traffic on Highway 377 is horrible most of the time. A lot of wrecks along 377, but can be attributed to all idiot drivers that roam Highway 377 and Highway 144 to Glen Rose.
Wow you spent maybe a whole 5 min on one home in Canyon Creek. You need to revisit it.

I don’t understand the amenities pitch, nothing special, Northlake pecan is so much better. Only thing Walsh has going for it is proximity to Fort Worth. Taxes are out of this world there.

I love Weatherford! I'm on the border of Weatherford and Mineral Wells, but between the two, it's a great area to live in. Lots of events. Lots of people show up for them, and there's a great family feel here. The restaurant options are getting better. :) It's not far to get to Fort Worth, so if you're feeling like a bigger city vibe, go there when you need to. You can pretty much find anything you need in Weatherford. It doesn't lack anything, that I've experienced. It's a perfect balance, in my opinion. You can have a quiet home life and it's not far away if you wanna get a little crazy. Weatherford is a very patriotic, God loving town and I would choose it again and again.

Been in Joshua for 8 years now. Worked EMS in Fort Worth, including Burleson, and chose Joshua over Burleson. It's the only place I know of in the Fort Worth area you can be in the country and be minutes away from a decent sized town. Bought a house with 6.5 acres and it's 10 minutes from HEB grocery.

As someone who lived in southwest and west Fort Worth (Benbrook) from 1967-1994 and worked at General Dynamics (now Lockheed-Martin) in early 80s I have great experience in this topic. Here are the place to AVOID living in near L-M: 1. Anywhere in White Settlement. 2. River Oaks. Old area that hasnt been nice since the 50s. 3. Las Vegas Trail Area (Apartments/Crime) or Western Hills along Highway 80 4. North and West along 820 (Lake Worth). Great places to live: 1. Benbrook (10-15 minutes) Nice clean family area near lake and golf courses. 2. Ridglea off Camp Bowie. 3. Along Bryant Irvin Rd/Chisholm Pkwy area. 4. Aledo/Willow Park. 5. CityView

Ok so as a Halset resident & property owner, it is CLEAR that you have NEVER been to Haslet, and have no idea what you're talking about. There are so many subdivisions, larger lots, and so much traffic. Less than 5 miles from Ft Worth, 5-7 miles from Westlake, the nearest neighboring city is a stone's throw away. So much traffic on FM156, Avondale Haslet Rd and Westport Pkwy, let alone all the traffic from the train crossings. Please do your research first. Clearly you haven't.

What are your thoughts on the future plans to build another highschool north of McNally MS and east of Morningstar? Nice new clean schools but a lot of those Walsh and Morningstar parents are pissed. You think we’ll see price reductions/inventory north of 20 and increased prices south of 20?

Yea, but they teach the texas style of school, which means no books, everything has been banned, and no education, school makes you too smart and you become a democrat. No tax dollars after the paranoid government spends all the money on an imaginary boarder war. And women are considered slaves not able to control their own bodies.

Love the video! We are contemplating moving from Austin to Weatherford/Aledo area because of several friends living in the area as well as TCU football that we currently drive up for in the fall. We have lived in Texas for more than 30 years (Plano to Austin) and love it! We have visited Mesquite Pit and it is excellent and the people are so nice. Our Austin house is Southwest side and we have a greenbelt view ,which a view and trees will be a high priority on our list if we move. Our house is not sale ready but maybe in about 6 to 9 months we can pull the trigger and make the move. We have actually rented a VRBO in the area to really check out Weatherford in a few weeks.

Wife and I just checked out the Ridge and Pecan. Is Harvest a better community than the other two?
Harvest and Pecan Square are both developed by Hillwood. Both have a significant amount of community events, more in Harvest until Pecan has more buildout. The Ridge is a smaller community with less events. Pecan Square is Northwest ISD. Harvest is 2/3 Argyle ISD and 1/3 Northwest ISD. The Ridge is Argyle ISD. Depends on what you’re looking for.

When looking at Parks of Aledo and Morningstar what are the pros and cons to both?
Parks of Aledo is a great location for bike riders and trails looking to be active. They also have a disc golf course and community garden. The traffic can be hectic be close to the HS during school hours and events. Morningstar offers a amenity center, fishing at the pond located at the entry, resort style pool, walking trails, sand volleyball, basketball and soccer fields and community garden. The Con is traffic they recently installed 2 lights to help with this problem but during peak times 3325 will backup across the bridge.
