  Nice video! I need to play through the Pixel Remaster still but have played the original, GBA, and PSP versions of FF. Last time, I played through the NES version while I was also playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, and it was a lot of fun to see the parallels and how they interpreted things in the fancy new graphics and presentation.

  baroque music is outdated, too, just like turn-based combat.... that's why you *never* hear the bach cello suites in every ad ever, and nobody has ever heard of persona (or pokémon) 🙄 (in case it wasnt clear, this was sarcasm) (this post was brought to you by cello gang, and also the mash-up of prelude 1 and burning men's souls that was tormenting me in my head this morning)

  I know what you're talking about with them using the voice actors a bit too much for the character models. I had watched a playthrough of this game on KZread and then watched Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, when the U.S. Secretary of State came on screen for the first time, I pointed at the tv and said, "That's Odin!". After that any time he came on screen all I could see was Odin in the move and quietly giggling to myself wondering where his ravens were hiding.

  god, every ending in AITSF hits like a bullet train, whether it be cathartic relief, a warm feeling of accomplishment, a twisted sense of helplessness, or outright soul-crushing despair. I wish the various endings in AINI all had the same level of impact :( I love how it's in Mizuki's route as well that the "I'm home" "Welcome back" payoff between Date and Aiba in the true ending gets set up.

  my favorite part of psyncin in the captain is how, while the camera constantly cuts to renju and shoko and loads you up with penalties when you go to date to imply that mizuki should go to her parents to solve the somnium, i dont know anyone who thought that was the correct choice. what a climax to an iconic found family story
