Welcome, here we will share our adventures with folks and just plain living each day the best we can within our control. Our videos will be raw, unrehearsed, and may contain errors, upside images, blurry video segments. Basically, no sensationalism, over production, or product promotions video's and would prefer to leave them as the adventure unfolds in Realtime, trying to not be to annoying with the abnormalities. Our videos are published for sharing our adventures with you and maybe offer some insight and ideas for your own adventures.

No "Click-Bait" or product sponsor promotion segments. Any mentions of products we use ourselves will be "un-biased" and uninfluenced to maintain straightforward perspectives and feedback, "Everything" has perspective flaws, even me ;-).

    Thanks for this video. Is there any concern about leaving the car trunk open for a 2-3 trip and the battery. No one ever talks about the fact that the tent attaches to the open trunk and it stays open.

    So these are the OEM Nissan rails? Making sure I understood your caption. I have some cheaper aftermarket I just bought for my 21 Rogue and they look very similar but once I get to about 30-40mph they whistle with the wind… drives me nuts and I’m tempted to spend more for OEM parts if they are silent like before I installed. Have you (or anyone else) noticed wind noise or whistles?

    Great video, thanks !!! I'm researching SUV tents right now for the upcoming season ! How did this tent do in the rain and wind, any leaking ? Have you 'fine-tuned' your technique for setting the tent up solo, based on your camping experiences so far ? Again, thanks !!

  • @livineachday2300

    Had some pretty knarly winds when I camped last with this tent, and it held up fine, just assure some window flaps are left open a bit to allow wind to pass thru, if you can. No leaks whatsoever in the rain thus-far, two trips. Yes, I have fine tuned setup by watching my videos and observating my shortrcomings, patience always helps as well.

    How’s the factory part? I purchased a cheap 120-buck Amazon third part crossbar. Also installed it myself. Apparently, when the speed is 40-60mph, I will clearly hear some wind noise(the car is pretty quiet before installation). Do you have extra noise after installation?

  • @livineachday2300
    @livineachday2300 Жыл бұрын

    Yeah, may have to fabricate a bracket alternative or look at many basket options. I have heard that some folks out a thick rubber piece between the basket bracket and the crossbar, then tighten it down. We have no direct experience on the baskets and have chosen to utilize a trailer hitch/receiver basket instead.

    Sorry, I just kinda skimmed through your video. Are the factory crossbars plastic or cast metal? I saw a lot of fancy ribs and molded shapes under the trim cover there. I've been pestering Thule to hurry up and bring some feet for this model year to market already. My wife has been leasing these for all the model years they've been in the US and have been able to keep swapping the Thule universal raised roof rail grabber feet from car to car. But like you've shown here, these new flush rails need a totally new design which neither Thule nor Yakima has a solution for yet and it's been two years!

  • @livineachday2300
    @livineachday2300 Жыл бұрын

    Hi There, they are metal. When I researched for some crossbars at the time, the Nissan brand was the only that I found for this model year. I kept finding, at the time, Thule, and other brands were still developing a version that would fit due to the change in the mounting rails for the crossbars on the 21 Rogue.

It rained for two days straight and I never had any leaks! I did spray it before the trip with a can of the rain repellant from Walmart and it did the trick! I loved it. Loved the hanging carabiner in the middle to hand my tent light. It easily held a full size air mattress and four women’s clothing and make up bags for 6 days. I got an SUV air mattress off of Walmart.com and another woman I slept in the Rouge and the other two ladies slept on the air mattress. I’m so happy I went with this tent.
