I've created this to record projects that I work on and find interesting. Please share with anybody who have similar interests; firearms, shooting sports and related activities and gear.
A lot of the footage is old and not necessarily filmed in the right orientation or clarity, for which I apologies, but it will get better as I go forward.

Area 419 and Diversified Innovative Products also make canted picatinny rails for the CZ 457.
Good to know, thanks for sharing.
Thank you sir.
crack!
Good job again
SDS says Inglis magazines are made by Sabatti SPA, Via Alessandro Volta, Gardone, Val Trompia, BS, Italy. Sabatti, Tanfoglio, Pedersoli and Fabbrica Armi Isidoro Rizzini are partners in the Italian Firearms Group.
Thanks for sharing.
I knew you could fix it good job
May have something to do with the firing pin safetys having something to do with the compatability of the slides
Possibly.
I have the inglis and love it. I cant beleive the quality. The springfield is made by tisas in turkey and is put together and fluffed and buffed by springfiield here in america. Thats alot of extra $$ for a name. Also i beleive the springfield has a few mim parts while the inglis is all forged
I love both of mine, I hope you are having the same experience with yours
I had one years ago , mine was engraved on both sides of of the receiver of a buck jumping a log ! Never seen another like it .
The Inglis L9a1 is Black Chromate finish. It's actually very nice. Mine had the common issue that you see in Older HP's were the slide stop pops up on a partially full mag, when shooting. this is due to the recoil rod spring weakening over time and use. The recoil rod spring in the Inglis seems to be a little weak. I replaced the rod with a new FN manufactured rod, and this fixed the issue. The Inglis runs flawlessly. Springfield had a few ejection issues after 700 - 800 rounds, due to a weak extractor spring. I'm not sure if Springfield fixed this problem, or not.
Thanks for sharing.
Very informative comparison.
Good to know
I recently bought an Inglis L9A1. Two magazines in the box is a bare minimum, and if I'm going to buy a Tisas gun from Turkey, anyway, there's no point in paying the extra $200+ that Springfield wants for adding its logo.
Would have liked to have had one of the older Tisas Regent clones to throw into that comparison.
Phenomenal job, well done 👏👏👏😎👌
You should consider updating the title, so that it shows up on search better. Perhaps try something like _Tisas Carry 9 DS (Double Stack 1911 / 2011) - Overview_
Will do, KZread algorithms drives me crazy. On some of my videos you can type in the exact title of the video and Google will find everything unrelated but not said video. I'll take all/any advice. Thank you.
Great video. Not too many reviews of this one yet.
Nice transformation.
Thanks for checking it out!
SDS / Tisaş should consider making Hi-Powers in .380 ACP and 30 Super Carry too. Perhaps also a .38 Super / 9x19mm model with two respective barrels much like the Tisas Desperado / Regulator / Stakeout 1911s? And have you explored whether a similar concept is possible with the .40 S&W and 10mm rounds?
The type of finish on the magazine has a TREMENDOUS effect on the trigger "feel". The magazines for the Hi Power were available with two finishes. They could be had in polished blue, or they could be had in a kind of grey parkerizing. Knowing that the majority of the grittiness that is felt during the trigger pull is due to the friction of the spring-loaded "foot" on the magazine disconnect rubbing up and down against the front of the magazine, conventional reasoning infers, if your goal is to reduce friction then you should adopt the magazine finish that is "smoother". Guess what. It doesn't work that way! I have an FN MKIII High Power that still has the magazine disconnect installed. I also have magazines that are highly-polished blue and others that are parkerized. If I have a blued magazine in the pistol the trigger pull is simply HORRENDOUS. But if I simply change to a parkerized magazine, the trigger pull smooths out to the point that it is quite reasonable. Not the result that you would expect, but that's what I experienced with my FN MKIII. FWIW, I also have two FEG Hi Powers that I purchased from a surplus dealer that passed through the hands of the Israeli Defense Forces. One is rollmarked as an FEG, and the other is a Counterfeit FN that FEG rollmarked as an FN and sold to Tariq Azziz when Iraq was under an arms embargo and could not buy weapons from the West. (How that pistol came to be in Israeli hands is probably an interesting story. But getting back on subject, both of the FEG pistols had the magazine disconnects removed.
That is interesting. I know about the Iraqi fake FEG-HP's, I briefly talk about it in an earlier FEG video. These fake FN's were sold commercially and brand new in South Africa in the 1980's. How they got there is also unknown. Maybe sanctions also curbed the sale of real FN's to South Africa.🤷♂
Very nice job
Love it. I gotta pick one up for myself. Thanks for the review.
That's a nifty son of a gun! 👍
Thank you for sharing this knowledge.
I'd like to have the black Inglis like shown.
Do you think the tisas ds slide will fit on the Mac ds frame ?
I don't have access to these pistols anymore but I think the slides should cross fit. Both are made by Tisas and cannot see how they would use a different slide insert for the two.
Looks like a nice little rifle.
You have the Italian version it was made in 2019, I have the Beretta 92A1 built in Italy of 2021. I have deleted the decocker in my Beretta 92A1 now it acts like a 1911 "cocked and locked".
I like the gun. It is an improvement on its storied predecessor, but it does give up a few things for that improvement. This gun is closer to the 1911 in size than the P35. That's where the most obvious change is. Slightly larger gun weighing in at about 40oz. Increased durability and shootability in exchange for concealability. The only thing that really bothers me about the new gun is the swizzle stick. Why FN went with such an odd plastic guide rod is fairly inexplicable, especially considering how beefed up the rest of the gun is.
Looks like much higher quality than the plastic ones.
Mooi
Nice gun
Smith & Wesson has brought the Star BM back, and they even named the remake CSX, after a railroad.
Never thought of the CSX as the re-birth of the Star BM, but I see exactly where you coming from. 👍
Thank you, nice video. Wanted to know what you get for the extra money on the MAC. You covered it very well.
Thanks for your comment.
The missus' first surplus is a Star BM and it's still one of her favorite firearms. Extremely accurate and reliable. She loves cleaning her too! Great video, sir!
These look nice I already have a Taurus 856 though so I don’t know if I’ll be buying a roscoe any time soon.
Taurus had a bad rep as being "cheap" or guns youd buy of youre poor or about to use it as a Saturday night special gun or rob someone. But they really stepped their game up with the revolver's and G3 line up. The only complaint I honestly habe with this revolver is that its not a classic 6 shooter. Other than that its clean,to the point and timeless.
Wow that's a great job
Had one. Regret selling it.
I got my G3 a week ago. Finally got it to the range, i was waiting on my fixed barrel spacer to show up. Only put about a 100 rounds of mixed 9mm thru it. Had about 4-5 jams, should be fine after more break-in. Very accurate with a red dot at 25-50yds, 1"-2.5" groups. Very happy with my first Kel-Tec...
@jarvismorrison9328 Same thing happened with my Gen 3. First time at the range had numerous FTF with the first 50 rounds. After about 200 rounds thru it, it runs like a sewing machine. Very happy with it now..
Not sure I would drive to TN. LOL. I will wait and see if they get them in at our local Rural King. They are sold out everywhere online. Pretty popular. My grandfather had one like this. I want to get one like his.
Call them and have it shipped to your local FFL.
Great job but what a pain in the ass
Rebadged Rossi
It's just a gussied-up Taurus Model 85, lest people think it's something new. The Heritage marking is strictly for show.
Where can you find one for sale?
The retailer at the start of the video has them.
Thanks, I plan to pick one up.
I had a star PD 45 ACP it was a great pistol. Probably more accurate than most 1911 s
