But aren't little children supposed to go out in to the world and get exposed to germs, tree pollen etc to build up their bodies natural immunities? This looks a lot like the boy in the bubble - a germ free sanitized world where the children are never exposed to germs and thus their bodies are weak and can't take germs later in life.

I watched the video and is a great reminder how to talk and calm down children. But my issue is why would you have a link for additional training and I make an account with Dr. Daycare and the classes and certificates are only for Dr. Daycare teachers. Now I want to cancel it.

  • @DrDayCareRI

Anyone can take the courses and receive a certificate on our training site! They are only free for our teachers, to offset the cost of making the videos and trainings.

Great video. I had an interview, and the interviewer told me if a child misbehaves it’s important to put the child in timeout. I told the interviewer I don’t believe in timeout.

You have too many "containers," for one thing. When the child in the soft containers, it is awesome that the teacher is next to them but how about turning the baby TOWARDS the caregiver instead of having the caregiver behind them, where they cannot see the caregiver's expressions?

He sounds like he's on his way to develop borderline personality disorder. Our mothers are our first live; it's our first intimate relationship, so when a baby who has been separated from his mom gets rejected by a female he has romantic feelings for, those abandonment wounds get re-opened. The attachment trauma of being repeatedly abandoned, not knowing if you'll ever see the one person who is capable of breastfeeding makes your subconscious mind, developed through many epochs of evolution, think you won't survive. You will succumb to starvation and thirst. Other lactating moms have their own babies to feed. Daycare creates insecure attachment styles, and people with BPD and NPD have insecure attachment styles. Read any book by psychologist Faye Snyder. Or listen to her interviews. Even the damn pet store knows not to separate the kittens and puppies to early from their moms, because they don't turn out right temperamentally. There are books about the negative psychological effects of daycare such as "Your Baby In Daycare: Are You Out of Your Mind?!" by Seyla Vee. "The Daycare Decision" is another book. Psychologists have spoken out against daycare, such as Ronald Goldman, Judy Rosenberg, Christina Papadopolous, etc. Books like "The Continuum Concept" and "Our Babies, Our Selves" are other good books that advocate for attachment parenting. The Wikipedia page on babywearing says that babies should be worn permanently on the mom's body for approximately the first 9 months (or whenever the child decides they want to explore the world outside their mom). Skin-on-skin contact on the mom's chest, so the baby can learn facial expressions and match the lip shape of their mom to the sounds and tone/emotion of words. Eye contact and mirroring/attunement is important for babies yo have with their mom. Rocking is important, too. It's rare to find violent person who was rocked as a child, according to Dr. Faye.

There's one thing that I would like to say about the video that you guys made. At 05:32, NEVER SHOULD YOU EVER PLACE THE CHILD BY A WOODEN CRIB. The Crib could easily fall over and the child could easily suffer from SIDS which means Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. But I like this video though. Thank you.

  • @DrDayCareRI

I wish daycares listened to the sleeping environment directions. So many let babies sleep in the bouncers and car seats. Also 04:20 is not a tight fitting sheet even though they just went over that o.o
