  Me impresiona sobre manera la genialidad de Joaquin Rodrigo, cómo la música en él, sin el sentido de la visión pudo brotar mas por abstracción que por la imagen o recuerdos los cuales no pudo grabar debido a lo temprano de su limitación. Pude ver y oir en escena por primera vez el Concierto de Aranjuez en los años 80 cuando nos lo trajo en sus manos mágicas nuestro Insigne ALIRIO DÍAZ(escribo desde la RB de Venezuela) discipulo dilecto de Don Andrés Segovia, demás esta decir lo grandilocuente de su interpretación plena de propiedad, por ello en nuestra patria los sucesores de Alirio Díaz y también de Rodrigo Riera han dejado muy bien plasmado el espiritu de esta tan laureada obra de Don Joaquin Rodrigo, ellos la estudiaron con los primeros escuchas, intérpretes y analistas musicales de los años 50, Regino Sainz de la Maza y Andrés Segovia entre otros. El Concierto de Aranjuez se estrenó en 1940 en Barcelona-España. Muchas gracias por el documental, es maravilloso.

  Es una interpretación realizada en el curso de una entrevista en la que durante más de una hora hablan aparte de Rafael Orozco, Alexis Weissenberg, Pancho Vladigerov, etc. El estudio de Chopin fue tocado por Orozco sin que estuviese previsto para el programa televisivo y en frío, sobre la marcha. La versión de los Estudios de Chopin por Rafael Orozco fue en los años 70 todo un acontecimiento que aún hoy día sigue siendo referencia junto con la de Pollini, etc. Sí estaba prevista en la entrevista la interpretación a dos pianos junto con Alexis Weissenberg de la Suite Op. 17 de Rachmaninov.

  Solo a un rumano se le puede ocurrir un trato con la musica de esta manera. Celibidache es un cientifico de la musica, un filosofo del arte musical. Un genio que despertó la admiracionde todos sus colegas, es el más grande. Nadie domina el misterio de la musica como él. Y todo por ser rumano, amaba España por que era un hombre que conocia el origen y la historia de la civilizacion. Un genio de gran altura amable y cercano. La fama nunca se le subió a la cabeza. Era latino y admiraba a Trajano, y como saben, este era andaluz. Grande Sergiu. Donde quiera que estes, este español se siente orgulloso de ti.

  The finest Spanish piano concerto, in my opinion. Goes off with a bang and ends in high sprits, and the middle section is of rare beauty, reminding me of Rodrigo's famous slow movement from Concerto de Aranjuez. I have always cherished Alicia's LP recording, coupled with Surinach's concerto, but this live performance is hardly less impressive. Thanks for posting !!!

  RIP for this tradition. It's almost disappeared. I studied with one of her great pupils. I can't see anyone playing this way anymore.

  The red fan on the conductor's stand is an old type of fan, Some producers were bothered by the considerable motor noise during quiet song recordings. When attempts were made to provide newer, quieter sounding ones, Svetlanov stubbornly refused to listen. In his last years, when conducting Mahler's Fifth Symphony in Japan, the compromise offered instead of using a fan was a break after the first movement to sit in a chair and let the sweat settle. In a video from that time, the maestro can be recognised sitting like a bronze statue.
