PRC is capitalist, but just not Liberal capitalist. They will have all the same problems as a liberalized market economy, but with the full backing of state behind it to cover any market failures. The difference between PRC and USA is that USA is willing to let its entire economy collapse BEFORE it intervenes. PRC can hit the stop button whenever it needs to. The problem with that is that it inculcates a capitalist mindset and the idea that the relative success of their brand of communism is established by capitalist metrics, and the real downsides aren't "real" for them. Failures of leadership within a market segment result in the removal of those who operated at the top of that segment, but not in the way that a Western military removes a general; instead they are completely erased from society. Maybe it makes sense to them, but to me it just seems like they're playing with a loaded weapon that they have no idea how to use. I don't know that anyone is really learning anything, and I think capitalist corruption will win eventually.

Gathering billions of barrels of samples has a future value that cannot easily be estimated, especially for countries currently dependent on the sale or consumption of large amounts.

Imo the F30 335i is the best of all worlds atm. Good looking, still a bit more modern, its practical as its a 4dr sedan, good with bolt ons and not as expensive as the B58 models
