Before KZread existed I used to collect interesting TV and film clips on VHS, DVD and even some laserdiscs. Why? You’d never know when, or if, you’d see it again.
Now I’m sifting through that very varied collection - some of it gold, some of it of questionable taste - and posting it here.
Also take a look at my other channel @SprocketList where I’ve done some longer edits on various subjects.

amazing to think that copies of the whole event still exist, because in 2001 it required someone to put a tape into a VCR and decide that day was worth taping. Especially outside the USA where say BBC Financial was on, Not truly must see TV. Compare to the USA where we have morning wakeup and chat shows on because it was still morning here and maybe someone wanted to tape an interview with some celeb or catch replay after putting the kids on the bus. Without home video many events of the 80s, 90s, early 2000s would have just been lost outside of official archives.
A tad sloppy at times, Cliff, but we forgive you.
very american indeed
How do you mean... it's radiation not made up
1990s: NATION SHALL SPEAK PEACE UNTO NATION 2000s: that's it, IT'S WAR!!!! Break out the WAR studio
Even on a big 4k telly this looks (and sounds) utterly superb.
Look at the skyline in the new shots, looks like its been panogrammed form the top of a council estate block. Who wants shots of Big Ben, The Wheel or Buckingham Palace when you can have a nice shot of world beating Manchester skyline and burnt out cars.
0.45 what a bizarre opening, it feels like I've just walked into Nationwide Building Society
22:39 As nice as it was to see Braveheart in this Top 10, I did wish that he had defended it more at the 97 and 98 Oscars when David Ansen and Amanda Donahue didn't have good things to say about it
The use of the coat of arms carries this masterpiece.
This is the highest-quality version of this countdown I've ever seen
World Business Report still going strong on the BBC World Service! Although I don't actually listen to it...
Can't believe it's been 25 years. So sad. She was a great presenter.
Wonderful. Thanks, for this .
This and 31st December 1992 were the two worst days 😡 Thames was mine! Sod Carlton. That was shit! Sorry but it was
Tom ate, that movie was so amazing
i love Un Couer en Hiver.
At least the 6 o’clock News and News at Ten is still at Broadcasting House right? RIGHT?!
At some point I’m sure the News Channel and the Six and Ten O’Clock will move to Salford. But who knows how long until that happens.
Have the franchises ever been put out for tender since? especially now as one company owns ITV (excluding STV)?
I was nine at the time, and just came home from school. At the time I would watch cartoons while doing homework but on that day I saw the images of the World Trade Center in smoke. I called Mum over and she said "Oh my God. Is that New York?" before watching the news. When my Dad came home from work Mum told him "To keep the news on". Apart from the 1999 Solar Eclipse and the coverage of 2000 Today, this was the first major news story. My sisters and brother were too young to see any of the footage at the time.
The weird era where the studio broadcasts were 16:9 but the sourced images were mostly 4:3 that was slightly zoomed in. The quality drop was really noticeable on a CRT
Tom wax much better than Sam Reid is in the morphed TV series.
“You grow 6 to 8 inches in height” 😂 Then you question your life choices when the audience sees Brad Pitt’s and Antonio Banderas performances. Not to mention their superior beauty on screen
Ah the Brits didn’t get Howie Long as the presenter?
The Queen's Mother's death is 22 years ago (March 2002) and more than 20 years later, Queen Elizabeth's death happened in September 2022. Hopefully, King Charles finds many ways to keep England as peaceful as they can, even if things don't go their way.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Nagyon jó 🎉
I love compassionate he is to her, understanding why she was so protective of the characters. But he did a really good job in that role.
This was such a good look for Tom Cruise it isn't praised enough
he was great as LaStat
his facial expressions are a mixture of amanda knox, onision, and a serial killer named john hughes who was interviewed by news journalist lara moritz.
My birth year
Tom will always be my lestat
His was better then the new one
he was so beautiful, now not anymore
Man film interviews back then vs today…..
He was the best Lestat, but I haven't seen the show.
They do have yet to make a movie to match her books.
Tom Cruise was brilliant as Lestat. Only overshadowed by Antonio Banderas as Armand. Brad Pitt was a bit over the top at times though
one of his best roles. From that point people never joked again about his acting range and ability.
His best work. He did Lestat well.
He was absolutely gorgeous!!!! 😍😍😍
❤❤❤3
No one could hold a candle to Tom playing Lestat!! Even in the show I think he tries to mimic Tom as Lestat!
