Cyborcat

Cyborcat

I've been creating videos since 2006. Mostly I focus on horror(ish) games and horror movies, but really anything goes. If I like it enough, chances are, I'll eventually make a video about it.
That's right-I talk about things I like, not so much things I hate (usually). Also, my videos aren't really reviews so much as retrospectives, and they tend to be lengthy. It's not that they're humorless-I'm definitely prone to being goofy and random at times-it's just that humor isn't the priority. More than anything, I just like to showcase stuff I like in a way that is (hopefully) entertaining.

    This movie was so close to being a good movie. Adaptation considerations aside there were two specific gaffs that made it lose a lot of cred. The running away from the cop and the cop just showing that they had no ammo left. So lame. Really takes you out of the story.

    I still say to this day this is a heavily underrated film. I have mad respect for christophe gans, the director, who made french supernatural film "trotherhood of the Wolf" ... and then despite it's cult success on it's own country and the fact it made it's money back, he spent the last decades trying to lunch genre film projects in france adapting various elements of it's popular culture like adventure comics, etc, and they all failed to get traction because france's film industry is incredibly reluctant to make any kind of ambitious projects and genre films despite a rich cultural history. It's friggin shame. Anyway if you want a more child friendly version of a similar story to the silent hill film, I heavily recommend Paranorman it is amazing.

    Have to admit that Christophe Gans did terrific job with atmosphere of Silent Hill and he seemed to be fan of the games, however while i'm not as angry as i was before, i still don't respect his decision to remove Harry Mason and replace him with a woman or rather his reasoning for replacing Harry like claiming "Harry behaved like a woman" because Harry was terrified of his daughter's safety and being vulnerable even i though i think Harry's response to the situation felt like what any good, normal father would do. It makes it look like Gans thinks men are "emotionless robots", who wouldn't care as much as mothers would about their children.

    I thought the game moved way to fast and had too much action in it which takes away from what made the original really good. The lack of noise, music and anything is what gave Silent Hill 2 its identity. The fast pace action in the remake takes away the Silent from Silent Hill. But we still have to wait and see.

    Before the show ends for good i would like one more ace episode (maybe a double feature). Although I'm not a fan of the season 9 onwards Rimmer being Ace theory, if its done well i wouldn't mind. I don't know what it is with the modern show but there are a few moments where i see Ace in Rimmer and something horrible happened might have happened to him to revert him back to Rimmer (he has been effected by technology before and who knows season 8 rimmeris now Ace). One of the things i like about this show is a throw away line or event get expanded years later and makes you look back at the previous episodes in a new light. Dispite the crap they give each other, they do care for each other (manly Lister)

    Hello. First off, VERY helpful video thank you so much! However, have a question. I uploaded a video of a game "Elden Ring" gameplay, it was a short 1 minute or so video, and I'm not profiting from it in any way considering I have like 40 subscribers and I don't monetize my videos. (Basically I'm just using the channel for keeping fun records for my friends, and any potential viewers around the globe) The video got completely blocked by content ID cuz at the time of recording the gameplay, I was listening to a piece of music that was copyrighted. (So the music is part of the original video not edited in.) Can I dispute with the reason being "I'm not selling the video or making any money from it"? And if I do, what would happen? Would the video immediately be visible after that for everyone? And what if the dispute was rejected and/or I lost to the copyright owner? Would I be have to pay a fine or anything like that? Would there be legal actions taken in any way? Sorry, I said I had a question but ended up asking many xD Thank you for your time reading this regardless.

  • @Cyborcat
    @Cyborcat27 күн бұрын

    Sorry, I saw this when it first went up and I meant to respond later, but never got around to it. The short version is that "There is no negative effect on the value of the original work as my use does not substitute for, or compete with, the original" applies, since no one would watch your video instead of purchasing the music. The only way you'd have to pay a fine is if the company decides to take legal action against you, and that's pretty unlikely (unless you're dealing with Toei or some big Japanese company--I've heard some horror stories about that). The worst I've had happen is getting a strike on my channel, but once it goes away, that's it.

  • @BF1_enthusiast
    @BF1_enthusiast26 күн бұрын

    @@Cyborcat Thank you so much for your reply and don't worry I'm not in a hurry 😄 Well actually, the music is by Masaru Yokoyama from an anime called Fate apocrypha but I'm not sure if that would be problematic... The thing is content ID automatically blocks anything it flags even if the music owner doesn't care for a particular instance, so it makes sense to ask for a dispute, just to make sure what the owner would want to be done with your video (especially if they're hard to reach like in my case). So despite that you mean the company could fine you just for asking for a dispute? It's funny because I don't even have a credit card or any way to pay online xD Besides if the dispute makes perfect sense why would youtube stand along with the copyright owners? Again thank you for your time.
