Late on this video but this was some dope ass journalism and storytelling I came across here. I’m 50 now the same age Big L would’ve been, born a month after him and lived on Lenox Av 141st from 93 to 98. I remember getting burger deluxe’s from Kennedys right on the corner of 139th and Lenox and seeing the NFL crew hangin outside and around the spot. Because I had on either a Gauchos tournament shirt one time, with some Olaf ball shorts and air max 95 on, or came down the block with some just came out 90s drip every time I walked past and stopped by Kennedy fried chicken on the corner in the evening after work, they showed mad love to me and complimented my fit every time. I thought I was gonna get robbed but they somehow knew I wasn’t about that life so in return they gave me respect. Trust me they were territorial and if they ain’t know you or you weren’t from there, you got grilled hard. That was the closest encounter with this crew that I had knowing that Big L, one of the best rappers in Harlem was part of that crew.
