  I think inventory systems cater to the human desires to organize and categorize things, and to possess things. Getting it right can really make a game more fun.

  That was one of my favorite things about Ultima VII, and I have yet to play a game that replicates its inventory system. It had it's flaws but I felt like it added a lot to the immersion.

  I get that the music is essential to a game, but being able to use it to tell when a battle is over is, in my opinion, a little silly.

  Well, music doesn't play during every encounter (like when I got surprised at the very end of this video), so it doesn't seem overly obnoxious to me.

  I agree with your opinion about Luis. He was a loveable character and I am sad about his demise. As for Ada, I personally like the character. She seems almost "dead" inside, which allows us to accept why she can be "evil" but also allows us to hope that she can "get better" - a possibility hinted at by some of her "good" decisions.

  That "Descent" portion at the end was mesmerizing to me... I love those vibrant, vapor wave colors and the electronicl music. Wow!

  I hate to say it, but Hammond's voice-acting reminds me of some of the poor voice-acting in Red Faction, which really hurt that game in my opinion. The rest of the voice-acting seems pretty good though.

  He seems to be written as a boring side character (like some of the other side characters), but it's a bit early to judge. I think that contributes to what might come across as a lackluster performance. I guess I didn't notice anything that bad while playing, at least not Red Faction level bad!

  Are you kidding me? You've been doing this well with a controller? I find that kinda amazing. I really prefer using mouse and keyboard for "shooters" like this. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a controller

  Yeah, I wonder if I might have been even better at shooting had I used mouse and keyboard, but I'm generally used to playing 3rd person games with a controller.

  I agree! I've seen some people complain about his voice not being as "iconic" as the one from the og game, but I think he adds more depth to the character in his own way. It's easier for me though, since I played this game first and I'm not looking at it with nostalgia glasses on.

  You were worried you may have discarded that Mixed Herb. No need to worry! At 40:25 you can see that you used it. It looks like that item doesn't heal as we expected it to, but it does raise your maximum health! So it wasn't wasted at all!

  Does anyone else get a Half-Life 2 vibe from this game? For example, the protagonist escapes through the sewers with the help of dissidents who see him as perhaps their only savior. The public announcements are especially reminiscent of Administrator Breen's announcements to City 17. I wonder if they did this on purpose. If so, I think it was a good plan because I'm enjoying it so far!

  Yeah, I've heard other people compare this game to the Half-Life series as well. A slightly different genre, but the dystopian atmosphere is there.
