THE SŪTRA OF THE HEART OF TRANSCENDENT KNOWLEDGE Thus have I heard. Once the Blessed One was dwelling in Rājagṛiha at Vulture Peak mountain, together with a great gathering of the saṅgha of monks and a great gathering of the saṅgha of bodhisattvas. At that time the Blessed One entered the samādhi that expresses the dharma called “profound illumination,” and at the same time noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva mahāsattva, while practicing the profound prajñāpāramitā, saw in this way: he saw the five skandhas to be empty of nature. Then, through the power of the Buddha, venerable Shāriputra said to noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva mahāsattva, “How should a son or daughter of noble family train, who wishes to practice the profound prajñāpāramitā?” Addressed in this way, noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva mahāsattva, said to venerable Shāriputra, “O Shāriputra, a son or daughter of noble family who wishes to practice the profound prajñāpāramitā should see in this way: seeing the five skandhas to be empty of nature. Form is emptiness; emptiness also is form. Emptiness is no other than form; form is no other than emptiness. In the same way, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness are emptiness. Thus, Shāriputra, all dharmas are emptiness. There are no characteristics. There is no birth and no cessation. There is no impurity and no purity. There is no decrease and no increase. Therefore, Shāriputra, in emptiness, there is no form, no feeling, no perception, no formation, no consciousness; no eye, no ear, no nose, no tongue, no body, no mind; no appearance, no sound, no smell, no taste, no touch, no dharmas; no eye dhātu up to no mind dhātu, no dhātu of dharmas, no mind consciousness dhātu; no ignorance, no end of ignorance up to no old age and death, no end of old age and death; no suffering, no origin of suffering, no cessation of suffering, no path, no wisdom, no attainment, and no nonattainment. Therefore, Shāriputra, since the bodhisattvas have no attainment, they abide by means of prajñāpāramitā. Since there is no obscuration of mind, there is no fear. They transcend falsity and attain complete nirvāṇa. All the buddhas of the three times, by means of prajñāpāramitā, fully awaken to unsurpassable, true, complete enlightenment. Therefore, the great mantra of prajñāpāramitā, the mantra of great insight, the unsurpassed mantra, the unequaled mantra, the mantra that calms all suffering, should be known as truth, since there is no deception. The prajñāpāramitā mantra is said in this way: OṂ GATE GATE PĀRAGATE PĀRASAṂGATE BODHI SVĀHĀ Thus, Shāriputra, the bodhisattva mahāsattva should train in the profound prajñāpāramitā.” Then the Blessed One arose from that samādhi and praised noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva mahāsattva, saying, “Good, good, O son of noble family; thus it is, O son of noble family, thus it is. One should practice the profound prajñāpāramitā just as you have taught and all the tathāgatas will rejoice.” When the Blessed One had said this, venerable Shāriputra and noble Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva mahāsattva, that whole assembly and the world with its gods, humans, asuras, and gandharvas rejoiced and praised the words of the Blessed One. ________ Lotsāwa bhikṣhu Rinchen De translated this text into Tibetan with the Indian paṇḍita Vimalamitra. ❤ Thank you Rinpoche. I havent read the book. I did check several reviews after you asked for a summary, and even when I am not able to write it for you just now, I can understand it is such a great example about the duality we use to think exists. An ilussion of the mental experiences, but after all it is an inspiration for hope and love. Thank you for enriching our lives. 🎉❤🙏🌈🌟

Yes indeed, ist's The Master and Margarita (Russian: Мастер и Маргарита)by Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov 🙏🙏🙏 Wikipedia summary: The Master and Margarita (Russian: Мастер и Маргарита) is a novel by Soviet writer Mikhail Bulgakov, written in the Soviet Union between 1928 and 1940.[1] A censored version, with several chapters cut by editors, was published in Moscow magazine in 1966-1967, after the writer's death on March 10, 1940, by his widow Elena Bulgakova (Russian: Елена Булгакова). The manuscript was not published as a book until 1967, in Paris. A samizdat version circulated that included parts cut out by official censors, and these were incorporated in a 1969 version published in Frankfurt. The novel has since been published in several languages and editions. The story concerns a visit by the devil and his entourage to the officially atheistic Soviet Union. The devil, manifested as one Professor Woland, challenges the Soviet citizens' beliefs towards religion and condemns their behavior throughout the book. The Master and Margarita combines supernatural elements with satirical dark comedy and Christian philosophy, defying categorization within a single genre. It exhibits autobiographical elements, but is also dominated by many aspects of fiction. Many critics consider it to be one of the best novels of the 20th century, as well as the foremost of Soviet satires.[2][3]

Having read various English translations of Karma Kagyu texts, I note the sometimes extreme variations (for example the Vajrasattva mantra or of Santideva's Bodhisattvacharya). I attribute this to no centralized authority in the west (like the Tibetan governmental edicts you mentioned in your talk) to standardize the translations. Does this potentially dilute the efficacy of the texts for western practitioners? And, thanks for your interesting research into this largely unknown topic area.

Just saw this as it landed in my notification. Do you know, khyentse, why the author talks of that beautiful voice as sadness? It is *not* because of her tangible worry for the unforseen events of her brother. It is beautiful but sad because she sensed she had to bear both, her brothers' impending mishap and her own sorrow because of that. And all this misery is because she loved her brother, hence the double edged sword of beauty and sadness.

So Sera Khandro dropped out of conformity and orthodoxy and she is now a role model for those rushing to conform and join orthodoxy? What do academia, institutions, scholarship, foundations, monasticism, organizations, rank and status have to do with liberation or the recognition of your own nature? As they say, "dont believe the hype." Look inward 🙏
