Seit 1. September 2020 wird die Wiener Staatsoper von Bogdan Roščić als Direktor, Petra Bohuslav als kaufmännische Geschäftsführerin, Philippe Jordan als Musikdirektor und Martin Schläpfer als Direktor des Staatsballetts geführt.

My eyes are bleeding. It's impossibile to see!..
👍 600
Ben Huys was such a HOTTIE, when he was dancing in the 90s. Had a huge crush on him.
It’s a pity he will not conduct the Wiener Staatsbalett after the present season. (2019-2020). We ballet lovers are very much afraid for the future of this company, which has been raised to a very high level of excellence, and he has increased the repertoire with magnificent productions.
The new Director destroys everything that Legris did. The reviews of the new Sleeping Beauty are negativ and his other Ballet also.
@@traudewim1994 Oh! Yes, how we miss Legris! I haven't seen the new sleeping beauty, but I saw a couple of his productions per streaming. I didn't find them bad, but I had the feeling he uses always the same "model" of choreography. As for the sleeping beauty: The only reason for putting a fairy tale on scéne is to perpetuate the tradition of the Great Choregraphers.
heavenly
Ballet ist schwieriger als boxing
It is stupid to say something so obvious.
Ballet is turning human energy into beauty, box is just a discharge of human aggression.
For me the high point of Emeralds is the first “Violette Verdy” variation. So seemingly simple, yet so incredibly difficult to pull off.
Lovely and interesting rehearsal to watch. But most importantly, so many gorgeous leotards!!!
Lovely dancing. Jewels is one of my favorite ballets and the musicality is so ingrained in the choreography. Very nice work by this company!
What an amazing interpretation of emeralds .. She looks like royalty
Thanks for sharing and posting.... lovely video
Gefällt mir sehr gut! Sie sind mMn besser als das NYCB.
What a beautiful company and great working atmosphere. Congratulations to all of you.

Quelle belle compagnie ! Mr B serait fier !
Why is the feeling that this ballet company always has excellent professionals and a terrible repertoire?
Because no one ever talks about them. They don’t take a lot of risks when it comes to their repertoire, so they don’t get enough press.
@@watermelon520b Perfectly agree !!
What do you mean by “terrible repertoire”. It has a magnificent repertoire, and Legris has added many “jewels” in it.
@@Bzcenci812 Yes he has, thank you for that.
Even before Legris the repertoire had many very good pieces. For instance, the Swan Lake and The Quixotte created by Nurejev. Nurejev also left a very pretty Nutcraker, etc. Legris has incorporated very modern pieces, in these days a programm Lukáks/Lidber/Duato. We shan't be able to see it any more because the Ópera has been closed until 31st March 2020.
the filming is stunning and the dancers are impeccable thank you so much
Balanchine so dated and overdone. Can't for the life of me figure out its popularity.
Can't for the life of me figure out that comment.
What an absurd comment. Get a life.
Yes it's not for everyone but I think it is ravishing. Merrill Ashly who danced it for years called it a dancers ballet.
Balanchine is everlasting as are the Great Masters.
@@Bzcenci812 Balanchine a master of his time. Now outdated and much of his work really boring. A great thing about ballet is different people like different choreography.
These dancers are beautiful. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into this amazing ballet company.
Where is Ben Huys from?
danced with New York City Ballet
Impressive camera work.
I think Iulia Tcaciuc should be promoted to First Soloist.
Oh what a lovely rehearsal of Emeralds - I love the Faure music, Emeralds is such a beautiful piece. Thank you/ Danke to everyone at Wiener Staatsballett
😍
There is nothing more beautiful than the human singing voice, and when it emanates from the lips of gorgeous Aida Garifullina, it is at its best.
Alexandru, may God bless you! Be strong!
Sehr schön. Sie gefällt mir sehr gut, weil sie eine gute Erzälehrin ist. Die Beste.
Finally. Thank you whoever discovered her for us !
R.I.P. Alfred Sramek!!!!
ist das cembalo mit dem lavalier-mikro aufgenommen worden oder gehört das elegant geschnaufe zum stück dazu,
die ist ja megaaaa
Fabulous dancer! All that talent and feet too!
Wirklich schön vorgetragen! :D
Ein hoch-interessantes, informatives Interview. Vielen Dank für die Einblicke, Herr Thielemann!
RIP Johan Botha
So beautiful!
Bravo to Manuel Legris, who is making a wonderful work with the company and bravo to the dancers who are achieving so much!!!!
Will you be posting your World Ballet Day segment. Would love to see it again. Good luck for the 31st October.👌🌹
She is an Angel!

The rehearsal clothes of the Wiener Staatsballet are perfect, neat, respectful yet movable. Compare my comment on National Ballet of Canada's weird get-ups. You can rehearse yet look well turned out - in more ways than one!
Hi Manuel!
brav
totally amazing!!! I watched the general rehearsal and loved the humour and the drama of the play. yes it felt like a theatre play, in a good way! With its symbolism of the staging and the costumes! I found the reaction some of the audiences really strange, I have overheard a conversation of an older couple complaining that why is there another Russian play in the States Opera of Vienna, aren’t there enough German composers.. sad. And also very sad seeing the underperformance in the sales box.. but hope it will still turn to be a blast. In my opinion it is already!!! TOI TOI TOI
Toll!
I've just seen Swan Lake with the Viena Staatsoper Ballet in June. It appears to me that Legris is doing a fantastic work to push this company up. They were really well rehearsed and the conductor was marvelous with the dancers, like he really knew when to begin and the tempos, etc. I hope to continue to watch this company grow and bloom under Legri's directorship.
A clear vision.
