Would Noel care to elaborate on the absolutely ridiculous decision to award Lehane motm? Clearly Shane Barrett was the best player on the field particularly in the first half when Cork were well below par. Barrett subsequently won player of the week whereas Lehane was rightfully benched this weekend as he didn't contribute anything bar a single score when the game was over. There has been some noticeably bizzare calls on GaaGo coverage this year with regards motm selections by the individual co commentator, Noel seemed to be angling for a make believe "immense" effort from Lehane when the previously thought handy scores against Offaly weren't coming, anyone with betting and hurling knowledge had alarm bells ringing immediately... do better lads not all of us are gullible to what's clearly going on there.

Did Hickey even watch the game by saying Laois played with a sweeper? Offaly were the team who dropped Bourke (13) deep to an almost 3 man midfield and this allowed Kiely to drop which gave Laois a free man in their defence.

I don’t believe these four so called experts never mentioned a single player from west of the Shannon, for instance Michael Donnellan who won all Ireland’s with Galway , Salthill, Tralee singerson Cup and footballer of the year as well, Pauric Joyce destroyed Meath in 2001 with 9 second half point oh and guess who missed a penalty for Meath that day and didn’t get a smell of the ball ya Trevor Giles, my third choice from Connaught is Ciarán McDonald the best passer of a ball ever to Grace a pitch, unlucky to play in the naughties . On bubbles point about someone needing to foul Kingston before he got as far as hayes. I think we will start to see that happen more often now if teams start running direct. Defenders will take the hit outside the 21

The GAA will need to respond to that by awarding a penalty for that kind of cynical foul no matter where on the pitch it takes place. Players only drag someone down like that to prevent a goal-scoring opportunity, generally in the closing stages of tight matches. That type of play can’t be rewarded. It has to be punished harshly.
