    Laundry liquids are way overpriced. Basically all are a similar formula, you just pay a premium for a name brand. I am not into that game. Same with dishwasher detergents.

    Delish, I would of thickened it with a slurry so it wasn't too saucy, thicker gravy I prefer. Then would of topped it with the potatoe mix, & wouldn't of lost that much sauce bubbling over, yes that's a winner simple is easy. Great job Gabi.👍😋

    Do you have a slow cooker? If so you could cook the whole chicken in there and then take the meat out and use then keep cooking the bones etc in there for stock?

  • @gabbimariecooking
    @gabbimariecooking2 ай бұрын

    Yeah I use the slow cooker to make bone broth, but I've been enjoying regular homemade chicken broth the best lately and I just do that on the stove - Boil whole chicken & veggie scraps for 1hr, turn off heat and let it sit for 2hrs, then strain. So good! 🤤

    Yummy haul and be interesting to see how he goes! I make tallow and beef bone broth as well! With your bone broth i season my bones with salt and pepper and roast in oven and then put into slow cooker with the hot water. Can he have ACV? If he can i put a good dollop of that into the bone broth and helps get the collegian out of the bones.

  • @gabbimariecooking

    Chicken bone broth we prefer the flavour of the bones not roasted, so this was the first time making beef bone broth so we didn't roast the bones and we didn't like it 😝 Will try again but roasting the beef bones next time!

    What’s he hoping the carnivore diet will do?

  • @gabbimariecooking
    @gabbimariecooking2 ай бұрын

    Main focus for him was for weight loss, but also to see how he felt with his energy & sleep as there's so much out there on how well you apparently feel with this diet. And in the first week he had lost 5.5kg and he is feeling amazing! He feels his sleep is the best he has ever had (he usually is an extremely light sleeper) His plan was to do it strict for 30 days and then slowly re-introduce fresh produce and other foods but he might stay eatting carnivore for a bit longer.

    Budget garden tip. When you are filling a new raised garden bed, buy a bale of hay and put at the bottom, underneath the new soil. Also add any compost in your compost bin, no matter if it's broken down or not. The hay adds cheap bulk and so does the not fully broken down compost. These will break down eventually. Mulching also has another purpose.. it retains moisture in the soil, which is great for your area. You can actually put 2-3 times the amount of mulch down, compared to what you already have.

    Just be careful with blueberries. I'm in Victor Harbor and have had blueberry bushes die in summer, when temperatures get over 40°. In that weather you'll need to shelter the blueberry plant with either shade cloth or a piece of fabric, a sheet is perfect, and water slightly more than normally.
