    Great overview thank you. I just bought a chuck and all the imperial and metric chucks on a local trading site. Its a brilliant system for sure. Mine is American I suspect because it has a 3/8 NC drawbar thread but its got no manufacturer on it so its a good thing I don't need any more collets.

    I just want my light to come on when the power has been cut, does it matter which port i put it in on the permanent live and neutral? Think i might have a defective batch as the light just stays on and its killing off the battery, to top it off the charge indicator light doesnt light up either?

    I had the same issue and it was the little jumper loop that was the key for my light. Stick to wiring the ports according to the markings on the fitting. I made sure that things were as I wanted them to be on the workbench BEFORE final mounting . They do make it tricky Shed guy

    Very nice. Nothing like a bit of shiny brass turning to lift the spirits. Nicely done all round. Does your lathe chuck lock? That is - can you turn the chuck in reverse?

    Morning Shed made, Ive just picked up a ZB32 head unit only and need to make some of the parts that are missing, I was wondering if you could let me know the measurement between the hole centres of the linkage arm that connects the middle cog to the upright bar, the mechanism that moves the head left and right ! very much appreciated...Del...

    Milling wide sections of cast iron can be a real chore- and especially if a decent flatness is sought. I dulled at least two shell mills and one slab cutter milling a casting to be a scraping practice piece. This is where a tool and cutter grinder would really come in handy.

  • @shedmade3264
    @shedmade32645 ай бұрын

    Narp but I took the cover off and had a look ... then regreased from that direction. its another order of magnitude to strip the bearing out as you then remove the shaft , and the rear bearing ..;l;;;; honestly this shaft is not rotating too fast so no big worry. Probably go there when the belt fails ... although a linked belt seems like a good option. shed guy

    I find the M12 coach bolts from Toolstation are a good fit in the tee slots once you file two flats on the domed head, the square on the shank fits in nicely too and they're available in several lengths.

    Can you sharpen a 1flute countersink with this machine

  • @shedmade3264
    @shedmade326410 ай бұрын

    erm I reckon you could set up a cross hole countersink to the grinding wheel wheel with pure rotation of the head - no cams no movements and grinding away. if there is a single flute then it would need relief behind the cutting edge. I guess it could be done but it is heading towards a tool and cutter grinder type machine. a 4 flute, and 3 flute would use a cam to give relief - but the flat land behind the cutting edge would be a problem. again it is more tool and cutter territory I think. I watched Stefan Gotteswinter grind a countersink to make it work to his satisfaction ........ and he goes to the next level. all the best shed guy
