Our Life In Trees

Our Life In Trees

We spend all of our free time possible outside at our property in the forest. From building out treehouse cabin, riding side by sides, to projects with our mini excavator and mini skid steer.

Some of our recent projects are building a cargo trailer camper conversion, using our mini excavator and mini skid steer, remodeling a toy hauler, building a custom deck around the pool, to remodeling an older toy hauler camper, and on to our biggest project yet... our creek side treehouse build!

Our creek property started as raw forest land, then transformed into a campsite with a generator and jugs of water, then to glamp site with electricity and rural water, and one day will turn into a treehouse Airbnb!

Come visit and see our latest ideas put into action.

Assembly is a PITA for Chinese machinery. Took 5 weeks to assemble my OS18 saw mill. Too darn hot and humid in South Carolina this time of year. Not to mention I'm 72 and 5 minutes outside or in the garage and I am soaking wet and feeling the heat exhaustion. Back inside the house for a break from the heat.

Save the wood and any steel framing. You never know if you could use it down the road. I saved the wood and steel from the OS18 saw mill crate I bought. I can use the steel and the wood (yes, it's thin) I stapled the wood to the garage wall frame I built to hang things.

China is not 13 hours behind you. It is 13 hours ahead of you. When it is the first day of the month where you are at say 1400, it is already the 2nd day of the month in China. I get to have fun with that as I was born on the other side of the International Date Line and even though I was born on the 9th, I am older than many people in the US that were born on the 8th. I have only gotten to celebrate my birthday in the correct time zone twice. Once at 1 and the other at age 11. Crossing the IDL can mess you up as we left Japan at 2000 on Dec 25th and arrived at LAX at 1130 on Dec 25th and finally at Pittsburgh at 2359 on Dec 25th. We had two Dec 24ths and two Dec 25ths because of that. It took a couple days for the body to adjust for the differences in the time zones.

@@OurLifeInTrees I am interested in seeing how well that unit works out for you. One option I would like to see is a seat that can swing over to sit on instead of standing all the time. Some standup mowers have them as an option. They have a safety switch on them just like the foot plates have.
