Office of the Colorado Child Protection Ombudsman

Office of the Colorado Child Protection Ombudsman

The Office of the Colorado Child Protection Ombudsman (CPO) is committed to ensuring the state’s child protection system consistently provides high quality services to every child, family and community in Colorado.

We are independent from the state and county agencies that work on behalf of children and families. We listen to the public about their experience with and concerns about child protection, research and investigate those concerns, and determine the best way to resolve each concern. Our work also allows us to collaborate with lawmakers, professionals and other stakeholders to advance legislation and policies that will have a lasting, positive impact on our children and families.

Have any of you ever considered asking what God would do with God given children and their parents when it comes to mandatory reporting for children and their parents?

Sadly that mom really was in the wrong thinking Colorado Human Services was the safe place for her son. Hard lesson learned. Father would have been safer then Colorado Human Services!

@1:34:30 Great point by Jennifer -> "The Person Answering the Call" "Screening" "Don't report someone because you issues with their religion or what ever it may be and the screeing process needs to filter". That shirt tailed Zane saying, they knew that little boy walking on his stumps were going to get more calls, they get them, they instanlty say NO problem, concern of child has already been investigated, NPF. The sad fact is if the same call keeps comming in on the same child, same issue, already proven no problem found, it is time to look into who is trying to use and abuse the child protection system for what ever reason. Maybe needs to be pretend followed up on, go ask the constant maybe same source caller, look for false reporting, maybe hate parenting call, and address it as a false report of child wellfare concern to officer of the law and prosecute.

@1:13:30 with Gina reporting "the Mom couch surfing with the one kid in varios homes," "living with different people in the home" where there was kid on kid assualt, why would not the protective father be given custody? If that was my kid as a father and found out about that, local law enforcement, this group, CPS, and the Governor would hear about it! There are way to many fatherless home / bad boy friend news stories that turn out bad single mom to begin with.

How much family financial cost is there that pulls away from child and family funding when a child is protected by the state and the parent must prove themself innocent as considred guitly until proven innocent and the kids are dependent on family funding to defend them? For example, how much family funding did the Aurora City Counsel woman mom and dad have to pay in legal defense themselves to prove themself innocent for the savior of their child? She probably had to pay for supervised visits, parenting classes, therapy sessions, court fees, and of course family law attroney fees. Maybe around 100,000 grand?

@17:16:00 and following Jeniffer mentions reporters looking to "find another reason" to report. "then "other reasons to report" concern comes up. The world "find" rather "prove" would be an issue when there are situations where Social Services CPS like in Larimer County says they are doing their investigative job, they are not and just going with someone filing a reason they found to file a report and we all saw how that worked out in Arapahoe County Social Services CPS with Aurora City Counsel woman mom's son be a child protection fraud target for parent hate target. Then there is note @ 18:37:00 "reporters finding other reason" seems like it is know people are out to just use and abuse put child in jeophrady of uncessary child protection, people are finding way to report and then their is a child missing a protective parent, locked in the system by someone who "had found a reason" to report, but was absolutely even known by the child it was not true.

@6:40:00 in your Child Protection Ombudsman Spokes woman introduction to the State Child Protection Ombudsman Office indicates they have State Judicial Department Juristiction to work with the education system. Just as you work with law enforcement, that is key and hopefully the State Department of Education works with you! However sadly on this first public session, no state department of education officials, no law enforcement? Do you have their full support?

This is where cases like Take Care of Maya are really sad if Maya in medical kidnapping attempt, already battery held against her will from her parents could have ended up in worse care then at the children's hospital, in state social services farmed out foster care captivity, had good parents all along!

Nice to see a school official come on at the end to have perspective of schools and CPS interface that could land these kids in the horrific foster care system that are not protected and could end up in seclusion rooms covered up not at a school, but in the foster care lockup.

Social services should study and thoroughly understand and be tested on the knowledge of the following. #1. ACE Scores (Adverse Childhood Effects) permanent brain damage. #2. Child Separation Anxiety and attachment disruption, child to good parent broken bond! #3. Power and Control over the child who has no voice!

@ 1:31:00.....this video presentation presented fact that "helping kids understand maybe their bioparents may not be their best supports and the system needs more money?". No considering grieving mom went to social service support for her son, how can that be true? Why when mom started off as saying she was broke and that is what her son's problem......and that lady around 1:31:00 states that the states need more funding for child protection? I am just a parent investigator, but something is not lining up!

Where could the school have better assisted before the only course of option was other residential treatment facilities? Was there any school bullying as it sound like there may have been known older girl in the area abandonment of him? An older girl abandoning a younger boy maybe could have been a red flag.

So lets get this straight, as the mother explained. Mother asks child what would make you want to take your life? Son who lost his life says "all the families who have been separated from their parents".....child is in state custody away from mom and dad, gets hit by a car, 9 News reports kid runaways laying down in the road? Domestic violence against mom lands child in state child protective services where he dies. Kid is put in state protection because of mom having DV against her? Why not just keep child with protective mom? Why was this child who lost his life a state ward of the court that did not get the state protection the mom and dad would have expected?

The US Census keeps track of tragic fatherless home child bad/sad children statistics. Sadly REAL sad stories of these children are being told by grieving mothers! Where are the grieving fathers who maybe could have provided a parent protective role when mom was exhausted in parenting having so much trouble with "THEIR CHILD?". Not to often do we see the grieving father or upset father on the news, just mom's sadly may mean the US Census Colorado fatherless sad / bad homes are on the rise and the child outcome is extremely tragic in many of the fatherless home cases. Why cannot our well raised son's as father's to our grandchildren be there for their children? We also see many, many women child protection social workers sad about their case outcomes, very few father figure child protection workers. The truth of matter in The Sound of Freedom was not even a government official went after the missing children a woman manipulated the children away from the father, It was a FATHER in a non government volunteer role.

Timmy was safe CAMPING and FISHING when his father would pick him up from daycare? What changed? A friend lost a father? An older girl abandoned Timmy abandoned Timmy and then the state takes him in? What potent pills was he going to take? Did dad go to Timmy's mental health appointment with mutual intake information concerning Timmy? When she said "We called" 911, was that her and Timmy or Timmy, her and father?

If they run from foster care, could it be a RED FLAG of abuisvie care with Denver 9 News reporting the father was notified of 60 days of missed school by his son, teacher crying, son was being abused to death by foster mom , how can the system be fixed conversation on the news.

Take the 9 News reports of the Arapahoe County child protection social service fraud arrest for the false accusations on Aurora City Counsel mom and was dad considered in that too? Then take the recent arrest of the child protection fraud in Larimer County where investigatons did not occur that should have in 2018 where the mom that is now in the UK held suspect, started crying wolf on great dad in divorced and likely CPS was involved in manipulation mom, removing protective dad. Then take into account in Longmont Colorado a mailwoman mom was saying that mailman father was bad dad, state of Colorado gave her a restraining order from dad, mailwoman mom took out dad in violence in broad day light. CPS may or may not have been involed. THE POINT IS THERE YOU HAVE 3 CRY WOLF STORIES ON GREAT PARENTS... WHAT IF YOU HAVE THE CHILD IN FAKE PRETEND CUSTODY, DO TO CPS FAKE BAD PARENT PER STATE AND COUNTY CPS, YOUR LOCKING UP THE CHILD LOCK WHO WAS TAKEN FROM A GREAT PROTECTIVE PARENT! So would you not run away from people who false accused your great parent and locked you up? The problem is false accuse abuse on a parent IS EXTREME, EXTREME ABUSE ON THEIR CHILD....and your going to lock them up? What if the child would not have had an Aurora City Cousel Woman who as a goverment official has a heard voice for her child? Stop and think if you would have locked up the Auroroa City Counsel Woman's child? Children are huge victims of false allegations on parents that is know goes on in Colorado! Child Protection Fraud... .So do the kids run back to their protective parent, NOPE they know you will their captor of CPS will come looking for them there!
