I wonder if moving the battery further forward/lower would make any significant difference. I know it's a smaller battery, but it's up pretty high up.

It looks like rear axles is overdriven and the rear tires are moving faster than the front, that would be a source of it wanting to flip over a lot more if the rear is pushing instead of the front pulling. I did notice that front wheel that just stopped turning too, something is wrong with that axle shaft. It might work better with slightly longer rubber bands up front and none on the rear. I wonder how it would crawl in reverse? Symmetrical link setups are difficult to tune and manage, that's why the AX10 and the AX24 are not used very often in the stock configurations, some C10 front and Deadbolt rear links on that one and it would probably work much better. Love the VW, love the color and happy accident paint, it does need some tuning and tweaking to maximize the potential.

No love for the redcat? I found mine with aftermarket tires and wheels is better than my scx with some common mods like shocks, links, and some brass in key areas.

His servos are pointing down. He needs to shorten his upper links to level them out and even tip slightly the other way. C-Bolt (C10 front links, Deadbolt rear links) stretch is the best imo.

It wanted to flip over because the limiting straps in the rear were causing the rear shocks to not hold the weight needed when on the incline, the rear shocks don't hold, and the longer front links don't help with that. Also, too much flex is often floppy, and rubber bands don't really fix that. Laying down shocks also causes shocks to not give as much push when compressed fully. Get shorter shocks, with stronger springs, and place them in a more upright position, with shorter front links, and it will perform better in the spots that this one failed.

  • @maxwellwills1816

Thanks for the great info! I had a little feeling that the rear straps were hindering it. Haven't really had a need to mess with suspension tuning YET but I'm definitely going to look more into it.

@@maxwellwills1816i really appreciate your reply to my comment, IMO it shows your great character. Most people do not receive criticism well at all. Also, most people don't like my opinion because i think that removing springs and laying shocks down horizontal is a noob obsession that never went away. Lol It's hard to fine tune shocks, and i haven't found the perfect limiting strap yet. Maybe there is a different kind of rubber? I'm still learning, and i know it's easier to say it than do it. That is a badass build! You should be proud. A little dialing... and you're golden! 😊

  • @HillbillyHermitRC

Centered skid, lipo up high/centered, and dbbl brrls are all balance issues. If the lipo was in the front of the chassis and he had a centered limit strap instead of the individual shock limit straps. That would help out quite a bit with the climbing issues. It would allow each wheel to drop instead of three wheeling on climbs. Droop is not your enemy. Like you stated. Shortening the front links will also move the weight bias where it will perform better. With 4ws rigs. F/R balance is harder to dial in when compared to drag axles. If he went with a metal servo up front, that would help weight bias as well. It hurt to watch a comp style rig fail where your tiny tire truck crawled right up.
