The ref count is not based on seconds. It's based on him saying the numbers out. Throw the time clock away.
It’s when the Refs start the count. So when the fighters wake back up they have a Audio and Visual clock right infront of their face. Only the refs count counts.

If you want to see a Real example of a miss-count then you should check out the Mike Tyson fight where dude was given easily 12-13 seconds, it was fhe slowest 10 count known in the boxing world. Proper tragic.

This guy was a very tuff guy. Even Mike Tyson admitted he was the hardest fight he ever had. He said his recovery was tuff after this match.

It was definitely a long count but that’s the refs bad decision nothing to do with Fury, course he’s going to milk it. The other thing is why’s wilder not stood in his neutral corner soon as the knockdown happened ? Another bad decision by the ref. Boxings nothing like it used to be. Look at Daniel Dubois v Uysk….. Dubois with a clear body shot and was robbed of the knockdown or potentially a TKO.

To finish the below: He was winning the Charles Brewer fight, for Brewer's IBF Middleweight title before tiring out and getting stopped in the 8th round, I believe. He came awfully close but never quite realized his full potential with the talent at his disposal.
