Love it!!! I only picked up an electric less than 2 years ago, and this song is the challenge I set for myself. I've got Duane's solo memorized, and most of Dickey's, but it's that damn phrasing that makes all the difference. Really well done.
@syd36107 сағат бұрын
Thanks man, its a challenge packed with lots of essential lessons in it. Wish you luck on learning it!
@chesterproudfoot98647 сағат бұрын
@@syd3610 For a beginner it's got every technique which IMO makes it a perfect song to learn. Can't play both guitars simultaneously, but I've already detected a bend v. slide on the intro which might help me. Also, at the end of Duane's solo going to the arpeggio, that's been hard for me. I need to slow this down and see if I can nail it cleaner. Either way, this is really sweet. Thanks!
@syd36105 сағат бұрын
I gotta say this song was a ton of help towards my improv and ear strength. Dickey's part in the intro took me the longest to figure out. Had to give up and stumble across the correct way of playing it in some random abb video where the guy was appreciating Dickey's famous licks and works haha.

That was brilliant, EC was on another level during this period. A lot of improv that was influenced by Duane like you said. How did you get the tone? there is definitely a wah there right?
@syd3610Ай бұрын
Yes i used a vox wah, with some decent amount of gain. The distinct tone in this album was EC using a cocked wah and he would use it in certain parts of the solo, as so i read in certain websites. Still its nothing like the actual tone, i could just grab half of the tone. Some sources say he used a fuzz pedal but I'm not so sure
@thomasdiaz803510 күн бұрын
He used a Sunn Colisseum Lead amp with marshall cabinets during this concert, so it is a pretty uncommon tone because of the amp. But it seems a lot of the tone came specially from having the cooked wah turned on almost all the time, even when he was not using it, at least thats what i hear in the recordings
