The engagement is not great. JGBike sells a good high engagement hub at a decent price. I have it on another one of my bikes. smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HPL69X1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I see what you doing there boi-boy! Very nice. The skinwall tires is killin’ it. Besides the quick release back rim and hydraulic brakes upgrade, it’s close to how I would upgrade certain components on the Mongoose Ardor. I like to keep things a lil’ more simpler and easy to work on, if you know what I mean. You should change the grips too, maybe some fire-red orange ones to make your bike pop more.

Looks cool. I'm new to Mtb, and I want to upgrade this bike. Do you think it's a good idea if I copied your upgrades. to be honest, I would just be buying the parts and giving it to my lbs cause I don't feel like learning 100 things. I'm willing to spend up to 1k on upgrades.
@nochillgil3 жыл бұрын
Not really. I spent too much money on it but it was a great learning experience for me. I needed to buy another bike for my son and went with the Vitus Nucleus VR. It was only $850 and it already comes with good parts to begin MTB.

How difficult was it to upgrade the rear to quick release?
@nochillgil3 жыл бұрын
Not bad at all. The only things were keeping the bearings from falling out and making sure it lined up correctly. 135mm btw. There are links in the video description for the parts and the video I followed.
