  Love me some smoked fish or upsquee in my language (im not completely thats how you spell it) i live in a small village in bc called kyuquot and every month my uncle goes into his shed and makes alot of upsquee (like 4 plastic bags worth)

  My son who is Sahnish from North Dakota pulled for Puyallup High School. He learned from teachers at WaHeLut Indisn school at Frank's Landing when he was in junior high school. I am forever grateful that my child had the opportunity to participate. It was an experience that words cannot express.

  Thank you for this video. My wife and I moved to the Seattle area last year and we have been looking for good resources to learn more about the area's history and Native Peoples. We look forward to seeing more videos like this on your channel. As a side note (and this is probably just the graphic designer in me being picky), I would respectfully suggest that you don't use AI to restore your photos in future videos. Some of them were very distracting and didn't do a great job resembling the people they were meant to. This is such an important video and being pulled out of the moment during the times that those altered photos were shown distracted me from absorbing the message and magnitude of this video.

  You say to call yourselves Duwamish but then say you are Muckleshoot at the end. Pick one, please. Also say they prevented you from speaking your language, which is true of pretty much anything that isn't English, yet at the same time I do not see you all trying to revive the Lushootseed language at all.

  Genuinely asking exactly what it is the tribe is looking to influence or change with this message. Is it to be called Duwamish, is it like a legal name change. I’ve heard about the law suits with the federal government but I don’t really understand what is going on.
