FYI Those are called crush washers. They should only be used once and thrown away. They are made of soft malleable brass so that they crush and create a seal. They deform and shape to the brake line and the position that its sitting in. The tiny ridges will not line up again on a new line and will often leak or allow air in if reused. They are $0.50 at the store if you lose your new ones. All brake hoses should come with them. If your brake hoses do not come with the crush washers that you need that means they are knockoff chinese junk and I wouldn't trust my life on them.

Impressive job! I commend your thorough approach with the wiring and dash swaps along with the engine. I have been working the same swap myself (‘96 4.0 into ‘89 MJ) but without a donor vehicle like you had. You dodged several setbacks I encountered. Swapping fuel tanks means you dodged the external pressure regulator and return lines. My AX-15 has a smaller input spline (just at the pilot bearing) so I had to machine a pilot bushing. I am a few hours of wiring away from trying to start it, but even at that point I will not have the wiring completely swapped. If you haven’t already, finish the exhaust. The sound is great, but 4.0s like a little back pressure.

@@mr.caceres305 thank you sir
Love the truck but dont really understand why the big black side plates arent painted green except the lip parts
It’s steel fender armor. I thought about color matching it but I liked the look of the black and green together
Where did you purchase those fender flares from
They are from the company Dirt Bound. They make a bunch of great products
Did you get long arms?
Yes I do. Cavfab alpha 3 link 🙌🏼
Its always painful for me to watch people wheel with a manual transmission. I prefer an automatic. You just have so much more control. The only nice thing about a manual is being able to push in the clutch instead of trying to find reverse when going up a steep incline. I really like the MJ. I need one to go with my XJ!
I hear ya. It’s was my first time rock crawling and it was a learning curve for sure. I plan on increasing the final crawl ratio at some point. Do you have videos of your xj? Would love to sub
@@mr.caceres305 yeah i totally get it. Just takes practice, and low gears help a ton! Yeah, i would appreciate the sub!
@@mr.caceres305 Its my dream to build a one ton MJ someday. It will be a fun project to restore an old MJ. They are getting harder and harder to find. It always makes me sad when i see one sitting in someone's yard, just rotting away. I have offered to buy them more than once, but they say no.
@@ProjectXJ only about 300,000 were made in a 6 year period. I subbed to your channel, and I’m currently building one tons under my rig if you haven’t seen my other videos
@@mr.caceres305 I will definitely check them out!
Man, I'm pretty jelly about this! Looks really good! I've been wanting to put a 3 inch lift on my 91' XJ for a while now, just need the time and the money. When do we never eh? XD Anything done to the power train? SYE, Trans rebuild, lockers, bigger ring and pinion, different engine even?!? Heck, engine cooling system changes? I'd like to know!
Thanks man. In the video it had Spartan lockers front and rear with 5.13 gears. As far as power train it’s a 4.0l engine and 5spd trans from a 1996 Cherokee. No sye, stock cooling system except with an extra fan on the A/C condenser
Damn i watched every second of this video to try to see how you attached the thing, did you use nutserts? did you use a threaded rivet tool? How did you get the bolts to mount in there? Did you have any trouble?
Says what he used at 12.13
@@ryancarter1041 he used lock washers on the front but didn't say what he used in the rear there is a fender liner preventing access to the rear bolts
@@williamjohnstone749 if you are referring to the rear armor, the middle three right over the wheel arch do require the use of riv-nuts
Yes indeed. You make all excellent points
Nice 96 cherokee engine is really Strong
It really is. I have loved it ever since
Just curious how much did you get your ax 15 for.
I got it for $600 from eBay
@@mr.caceres305 thanks for the response. I guess im going eventually buy one on eBay also. I just can't find any in my area.
yup me too. I need 4wd
Will XJ leaf springs work? Im hoping to just buy an XJ lift and use it on an MJ... hmmm
Xj leaf springs won’t work unfortunately. But if you do what I did and move the leaf springs from under the axle (sua) and move them over the axle (soa) you can get 5-6” of lift. A company called general springs sells Comanche leaf packs
@@mr.caceres305 Thought about doing that, might be the best option. also might get a lift pack so ill definitely look into it. thanks for the info, much appreciated.. and ill be buying an XJ alongside the comanche to use for swap parts... interior, front clip, doors, motor etc... so itll be either 8.25 or d35, so hopefully everything goes "smooth" lol
@@brodybud anticipate the unexpected is all I can say about swaps 😂. I’d recommend the c8.25 over the d35. It’s a stout axle up to 35/36s. It’s what I had before I bought tons
@@mr.caceres305 tons gotta be the way to go haha, my xj has the 8.25 was thinking about adding more lift soon and maybe some 35s. i just daily it and dunno how 35s will do in the hills on the highway lmfao
@@brodybud gears will be your friend. I’d recommend 4.56 or 4.88
what kind of fender armor/flare is that??? too cool
They are the dirtbound steel fender armor and flares
@@mr.caceres305 thanks man! much appreciated! about to start my comanche build, (im sure you hear that all that time lolol)
@@brodybud that’s awesome! Another saved from the scrapyard. I can’t wait to see it. Be sure to check out Comancheclub.com, and if you got any questions let me know
@@mr.caceres305 hey ill definitely check it out! You should see this thing, 109k miles, 86' , white hardly a spec of rust on it! all the usual rust spots are clean as can be, i cant believe it.. 2.5L
@@brodybud can’t wait to see it. Thank for the sub 🙏🏼
Needs to learn how to drive
I’m aware. First time doing any sort of rock climbing
OK, so I have found the vent windows... but those sun shades. are they ones for the back windows? or where did you find them? I have looked everywhere and a bunch of different names. I cant find anything?
As lame as it sounds I’m not sure where they are from as they were on the Comanche when I got it. I would try searching for them as if you were looking for a Cherokee version as it would essentially be the same
Hell yeah man, I'm doing the same swap on my Comanche too but I went for the full frame stiffener kit. What steering setup are you going to be running?
I thought about it. I’m definitely going to do the mids and part of the front, I was going to use the T&M fab kit. As far as steering I was going to start with the jk setup and modify it as possible
@@mr.caceres305 the T&M kit is what I have and it fits great. The drag link is my biggest hang up so I've been considering learning how to make a custom one.
@@Turtle66 I can see that being an issue. I don’t have the parts in front of me so there isn’t a way I could help yet
@@Turtle66 from everyone I have asked. The drag link does have to be custom. I was content just shorting the jk one and sleeving it with a piece of tubing
What lift do you have?
It’s a combination of parts. But overall it’s a 6” lift on 35s
Where did yu get that stepper for your jeep
They are made to order by Scarfab. I have another video on them if you go through my channel
So ford extended lines fit jeep?
Im pretty sure I said “4 to 6 inch lift kits” but I can understand why it sounds like “Ford”. I don’t not know if Ford lines fit but these are Jeep specific
I have Big Bear 2006 , I purchased the same lift kit you have but the front part did not fit to my ATV CAN YOU HELP? Thanks
What did not fit? Make sure the brackets aren’t backwards
Where to buy electric to mechanical
anth0ny714 I’m not sure what you mean by this? Automatic to manual?
@@mr.caceres305 the speedo I'm assuming
The sound is great, but 4.0s like a little back pressure.
comanche40 Thank you. If you have any questions I will try my best to answer them. I ended up installing a 18” glasspack with an axle dump
hey do you have that Bluetooth speaker because you dont have a radio or why
jp fishing yes exactly. I didn’t have a stereo at the time of filming this video. I do have a stereo now so no more need for a Bluetooth speaker
Congratulations well done
Jose Cuevas thank you. I appreciate it
