I’ve had this yak for a couple seasons now and couldn’t be happier . You can get seat risers for it to get a little higher off the water . Seat straps do tend to loosen with use but I learned to just check them before going out . Standings gets easier the more you do it . I’m 54 with bad knees and hips and can stand to fish as long as it’s calm

If you grind the end of the rebar to a point they go in the ground even easier also if you leave an inch or 2 of rebar above the PVC you can hammer them into the ground when you got tough dirt just a couple tips

I'm here because of the other video I seen and you put the link in the description. Just me asking a question ok. I see you have the rod bending in the opposite direction in which a push button or baitcaster would normally bend. Wouldn't that hurt the rod or guides at least? Anyway, I was gonna make me one for my spinning reel and that position caught my eye. Was just wondering if having the metal/aluminum towards the water, put pressure upon my rod or reel. That's why I noticed the way you had it. Again, not a knock, just a concern and question.

I have this same model kayak, When you shop for a kayak you have to figure the “working weight capacity”, for what kinda kayak will do the job you need to do. To do that you take .7 x the manufacturers weight capacity to get the working weight. If you are 230 lbs and you have 60 lbs of gear on your kayak like you say, that means your kayak is 45 lbs overnight! With the Teton Pro the math works out to 245 lbs working capacity. I’m not trying to be mean or anything, I’m just giving you the facts of the matter. Being over the working weight capacity puts your kayak at risk of being unstable and makes your kayak harder to control
@whiskerwhisper2 жыл бұрын
Makes sense, "it was a rough estimate" That being said I was a little over packed looking back. But I'm still here alive and well. can't be old and wise if you were never young and dumb 🤣. So decided to get me the old town 106 powered by minn kota 37' wide and heck of a lot more weight capacity. Or as you said "working weight capacity". Hope it's a game changer nice comment by the way! Tight lines

It looks to be a peace missing off the bottom of that transducer arm that would rotate it 90° to be in line with your direction of travel. You may have it and just didn't use it I don't know thought I'd point that out. It's a small piece and may have been lost before you even get the thing.

Hard ground it won't work. Easier way is pound in 14 inches of the rod, then cut a 24" 2" pvc drop it over the rod, and insert base of rod in pipe. You can move quickly and reset quickly. Clamps look pretty but are a waste especially if you can't just push it into the ground.
