  Hi James! When you link two or more devices the new group formed acts like a new device, since the elements in the group communicate among them and with the app, to synch. Therefore it's not possibile to have them shared in multiple groups 😉 Thanks for your idea though, we'll share it with our developers so that if feasible, we'll think about this for the future!

  @@Twinkly 5 months later? FYI my router has both spectrums. Unfortunatley istead of jest allowing your tress to connect to the internet via an existing router it has to connect via its own wifi setup (totally stupid in my opinion). Due to my needs I will be upgrading my router to wifi 6 or 6E and as you are well aware my tree will not connect to the internet or my phone due to no 2.5GHZ channel. Would be easier to just rewrite yur app so it connects to your smartphone and just let the app use the phone as a pass through to the internet and stop driving people crazy with your antiquated setup. Oh and to answer your question, this past winter I was not able to get the tree to conect to my internet or app because of your rrecommened setup. Fix your shit.

  Solution: I was also having trouble as this video is dated for Gen 2. The process is the same however, if your lights aren't turning on at all or only a couple bulbs then you need to select the right type after connecting. The default connection is RGB, if you have RGBW they won't work until you manually select it as the system doesn't.

  If I decorate a house on two stories with icicle lights., Does it matter if some are running left to right and some right to left as well as 45 degree angles backwards etc? The reason I ask is that I want things effects like snake to run the same direction (example left to right). The other day I set up four and the last one I flipped the direction. Then after using join group then mapping together, the effects for just that one string ran in a different direction than the other 3. Did I do this wrong or do I … please help.

  Reset doesn’t work… I did all of the steps Unplugged / hold down button until lights turn red Selected the Twinky WiFi option but it keeps saying no internet connection Open twinky app and it says I’m not connected to twinky app. These gen 1 trees really suck

  I have 2 sets of gen 2 400’s and I can’t connect either. The Bluetooth connects but when it comes to connecting the WiFi it always fails. I tried resetting and but say the same. I did the offline mode and nothing works.

  Hi there! On the app you can find different effects with multiple colors in them, but what's better, if you have a specific result in mind, you can directly create your own effect using the FX Wizard, ore even upload GIFs and JPEGs, so basically you have infinite possibilities in terms of effects and animations! 😉

  This is the classic pine cone shape, that's why you see the "scales".   @@Twinkly Please don't take my opinion the wrong way, I'm a BIG fan of your lights. I've been using them for over 3 years now and have somewhere between 5-7K of them..... Including 2 sets of the festoon lights ( I can't seem to find the extension sets tho ). I was only commenting that I prefer the smooth bulbs because they remind me of my childhood.

  Hi Steve! With Lightwall, as for Twinkly retail products, you can't reproduce video files, but you can upload GIFs eventually! Videos instead, are available only for PRO and Plus devices since they're dedicated to bigger installations. In fact, resolution depends precisely on a matter of LED density, like pixels for digital images: the more they are and the less spaced they are, the more the image will be precise. Hope this helps!   A word of help for others out there. 1st - Make sure that you have your "Location" turned on on your phone. That setting MUST be turned on. 2nd - If you can NOT connect via Bluetooth, get to the flashing purple light to connect to your WiFi. Do that and then it will connect. At least, that's how it went for my 4 strands. GL to all and I hope this helps others. 😊

  ​@Twinkly I figured them out. The problem is in getting to the right color connection link on the strand controller. You have to get to Blue to connect to Bluetooth. You have to get to the light purple light to connect to WiFi. And you MUST have your location on. If you do not put your location on, they'll never connect. So the 1st thing to do is turn on your location. Next get to the flashing Blue light on the line controller to connect to Bluetooth. If the Bluetooth won't connect, get the strand line controller to flash light purple to allow it to connect to your WiFi. THEN connect it to your Bluetooth. It's unfortunate that what should be a simple thing, is a cumbersome process. And after all these years, you think Twinkly would've made this a simpler process. Other than that, once you're connected to the lights, they are absolutely fantastic. So vibrant and beautiful to watch them and all their different effects. I will say, that you should add a Halloween effect, with purple and orange and white twinkle effects throughout the strand. That should be an absolute addition made in your next update. Please do this. It's the only holiday without any effect for it. Thanks.

It is indeed a really simple procedure, you can take a look at the help section on our website, you can find the connection procedure step-by-step, where both the geocoding and the controllers LED statuses, are explained. As for the Halloween effects, you can find some in the explore section of the app, but I'm sure our developers will think of new ones for this year, and remember you can create your own with the FX Wizard, that's one of the feature that makes Twinkly special!
