  there is an old section off 66 on the west side after you have to get on 40. has an old bridge on it (north side of i-40)

  before they fenced it off i went EB from behind the gas station till the road was gone.

  i wonder if boxcar still lives there? he's a frenchman. i think his name is jacque? (sp) he and another guy lived there with about a dozen dogs. nice guy. i only went as far as the split on that side. up to the washout on the other when it was still almost passable. if i had a 2x12 i could have crossed over.

  After receiving a National Park Service grant, the first 3 work sessions were focused on work to fulfill the grant guidelines. We worked on stabilization of the walls, roof replacement, and a new foundation. From there, we could focus on exterior stucco work, interior walls, painting of the building and adding the gas pumps, etc.

  🤩 WOWEE! I absolutely LOVE ❤️ this newly created video showing the progress from 2018 to 2021. There were seven (7) work sessions, plus the initial assessment trip in Spring 2018. GREAT 👍 JOB ON THIS!

  Very nice video, John. There is so much to love about the Painted Desert Inn. I can’t wait to view this historic structure with my own eyes. Love the FRED KABOTIE painted murals, the stained glass ceiling artwork, custom carved wooden furniture, etc. Thank you!
