Not sure about the Volvo's, but I've had a couple vehicles where the problem turned out to be the coolant temp sensor and they rarely trigger the check engine light even though they're monitored by the ECM. I sell auto parts, and when I have customers who are chasing these sort of problems and they don't know which way to go, I'll tell them if they have to guess and start throwing money, buy the coolant sensor first. Super likely.

I'm having an issue where the exhaust is hanging too low and I can't figure out how to mount the exhaust pipe without it being too high with the OEM O-rings where the front silencer would normally go and hitting potholes in New England have caused it to shift and the back pin on the rear silencer is hitting the frame. Trying to toert that out next. Any tips anyone?? I'm a noob Volvo lover trying to keep her beast happy and clean!

Absolute legend mate. Loving the video. You are spot on in the fact there are no videos in english for this. I struggled 3 years ago to do the water pump and boy was it a head scratcher with no help and a crap after market manual. I found a step by step pdf which helped. Really glad you made this and ignore those people asking it’s not the correct way. You’re a driveway mechanic like most of us old car owners 😎 just use whatever to get it done 👌. I dont suppose you have a parts list? The waterpump i put on is now leaking and i want to do the timing belt/seals too whilst im in there. I have the timing belt kit but the other list would be appreciated. Love your commentry too, very honest and reminded me of my swearing fun i had doing this 😂 peace from the UK 🤙

Only other bit of advice I would throw in is make sure you always go with high quality parts when you replace sensors, etc. Bosch is best, aftermarket can be very shotty especially with sensors.

Is there a benefit to taking the boost pressure reference off the upper EGR plate vs just "T" of the turbo on the line going to wastegate? I out my EGR probe in the same place as you did but the upper plate for EGR is where I installed the nozzle for my methanol injection. Watched your other video on TB/WP&Rad replacement, for some reason thought you were on East Coast. Are you in Bay Area? There are a number of Delica owners in the Bay Area running some pretty modded vans. -Josh

I own 240 for over 40 years, it is a shame that Volvo lost their soul with the FWD cars loaded with completely useless gadgets and completely nested electronic functions that leaves you stranded in the event of a failure. Anytime I'd go for a RWD volvo but after I driven a S70 and newer models , I'll stay away from them.

I just bought my first car ever today and it is a 1992 Volvo 240 wagon. I paid $3250 and the odometer broke at 179k so I rough estimate it has 200k or a lil less on it. It’s a automatic in Blue Green Poly it has a couple dings on it but it’s pretty frickin clean and the owner did a bunch of work on it new battery new power steering new ac new oil filter etc. I feel like I got a pretty good deal on it and I’m so happy with the car. I can’t wait to learn more about my 240 and Volvos and the community. 🙏

I drove my last freightliner over the road tractor 650k miles in 3 yrs and never used any additives. Diesel engines especially with mechanical pumps last so long because the oil is in the fuel . Anti gel is only for really cold climates where is below freezing for extended periods . I think your wasting your money on snake oil. In Philly we have a delica dealer .I own subaru powered VW vans but have an itch for a delica but man I hate right hand drive

Hey man, I'm in BC Canada, looking into a 2004 Delica. Has it been hard for you to get parts? Difficult to find someone who will repair it? Any issues I should know about before I take the plunge? I'm a camping fiend and flip houses, so, I feel like a delica would be able to take everything I want to throw at it
