Hi JtdWS, weld (best WIG/TIG) cast iron piece same way and place as on vacuum actuated turbo (fine thread vtg lever stop screw) and search same vtg point (96% closed). Then make vacuum for example with big old fuel pump electrically and create with bypass (to calibrate) good gauge (i use 2 gauges to make middle value) EXACT - 0,6bars. The stop screw must touch the lever at - 0,6bars.Test with little paper stripes. So the turbo is prepared for use... 🤗

Hi, it really depends on how worn the clutch is. If "like new" this clutch can handle a lot of torque! There are very strong plates from Ferodo on the market and Stage 2 from JTD Performance / Netherlands is gigastrong. Two years with no problems😊

Yeah of course. But it's nothing special. It is the stock GM F40 6-speed gearbox from this 156 20v. Only upgrade with Quaiffe torsen diff. is a good thing🔧💪

Hi! 209PS ist ne gute Basis. Die Sensoren MAP und Rail, eine größere CR Hochdruckpumpe z. B. R90 CP3, mindestens einen GTB/GTD 2565, einen freien Abgastrakt ohne DPF+KAT und gute Software. Das AGR noch stillegen und ausprogrammieren, dann sind 350 drin👍🔧

I' mostly fueling Cirkle K (Statoil) Miles. But, thinking about switching to B0. Called marine diesel with 0% biodiesel. What do you think?

Hi😊 0% Biodiesel ist best choice of course. Where do u come from? Here in Germany i can get premium diesel from Shell "V-Power Diesel" and Aral "Ultimate Diesel" 👍💪 In Germany i can get NO marine synthetic diesel GTL (Shell, means: Gas To Liquid). I bought it in the Netherlands to try out. Super Stuff! Absolute no smoke and more power. But burns hotter, so software has to be changed for lower EGT'S. So because it's not available here i go with ARAL Ultimate 0%Biodiesel and better Cetane grade.

Hi, stock belt. Pump pulley is machined crank pulley. Second roll, same as stock in the M10x1, 25 thread in the head. I explained already here in the comments. Search it, perhaps a little bit better explained there. 🔧

Yes, 308 can deliver this power BUT you have to begin with electrical tank pump (build in a much stronger), then minimum R90 CP3 high pressure pump in very good condition and one new pipe back from engine bay to tank for diesel backflow without pressure.

Amazing job, such a lot of work for that car, that's brilliant! I'm wondering if it's true that with the time and money spent on a project like this you can have even more power on a similar diesel engine like the MB OM605. I know that they're the benchmark for massive tuning.

Hi! Intersting comment 🤗 I think you ment OM606. THAT is 3.0 6 cyl 24 valve giga engine with mechanical pump. I'm super interested in such thoughts you have. So for example M57 /N57 BMW engines compared with OM606 or JTDM and TDI different generations. The construction points where the 'superlittle' difference is... for example "material between the cylinder" or "bearing /piston pin diameter" "head/cooling design/closed deck", such given things that can make a bombproof engine design. And the 2,4jtdm is head to head with OM606. Shared 1st place💪

@@hjthiessen no no, i meant the OM605 (5cylinder) because i saw some MB Sprinter pulling like Golf GTI (and they're comparable to the 2.4 JTDm 'cause they have the same deplacement). The OM606 i think it's the Queen of diesel engine and even on it's NA version on the W124 sound amazing with an inox exhaust. A True classic car

The inner drive shaft joint right (Tripode) is the weak point. For this joint it seems to be easier to transfer high Torque when deeper in the shaft hole and straight. The fine needles in the three tripode balls are wearing on the full surface only when drive shaft is in no angle. And the pressure/surface rule says: pressure to more surface devides power. So the drive shaft has best surviving chances in straight position 💪⚙️🔧

@@bvcvcc1289 oh.. don't withstand WMI (WEI Ethanol in my case) it's SO much fun when kicks in. Especially when Compression Ratio is reduced it is a MUST. And you can use it for more power at the weekend or for cooling only when high speed race... I love WEI

Can you tell what thickness the washers under springs are? I’ve tried to find that info everywhere but no luck. I did some measurements how different thickness of shims affect the seat pressure but Im not sure how close to coil bind is safe to go with stock springs.

@hjthiessen Is there any updates on the build? I am really looking forward to them, I know you are cooking something big! On my 1.9 16v I have now moved on cp3 r90 with pulley mod, and the remaining injection system from 2.2mjet (674 inj) hoping that the pump will go on over 2200bar, do you have bigger sensor (2400-2500bar) reference you would reccommend using? Previously had R80 and 308 inj but got some complaints from the tuner that that setup wont go over 290hp... Gtd2060vz is in, welded onto stock manifold (only smoothed out, not ported), with 76mm dp but 70mm rest of exhaust. I did not touch engine head (stock springs aswell), hoping it will still do a decent job, without floating (forgot to do it when it was off the block last time)...but still aiming to keep the limiter close to 5500 as the complete engine bottom end is balanced within racing spec. I do not plan to go bigger with turbo nor exhaust, so maybe only the head porting when something decides to die... At what point did you decide to modify the intake manifold, I was hoping only to remove the butterfly from the throtle valve, would it present a big flow block (at 2.5bar, less than 350hp)? Also aside the rest, which low pressure fuel pump (in the tank) are you using? I have seen your reccomendation for aditional water pump but I havent seen my water temps going up much, maybe oem one is enough for 1.9/smaller engine... Stay strong and keep us updated! 💪

Hey! Seems you're "deep" in the topic and your estimatons are realistic as i think. Cp3 r90 will be able to go 2200bars on 4 cylinder 1.9👍when in good condition. 2060 is a very good turbo but better 2260 for 300hp and less backpressure. In my opinion you should invest in 2565. THEN everything gets better and the engine can get rid of all the exhaust in high rpm's😊🔧 VAG MAP Sensors... Keep on tuning! My new engine is just ready and filled with break-in-oil for the next 1000 very slow "drive in" km...... we will see 😅

Hi Zdenek! From my experience the head only cracks because of bad software tunings. With the stock water circuit you can go full throttle only for a (very) short time. And normally the exh. temperature raises much quicker than water (water temp big latency) So you never really know what your water circuit can do😅 Best solution is: Get a Pierburg cwa 400 electric water pump with tiny controller, take out thermostat and get lucky. You can set the wanted temp with the controller and you have ALWAYS this temperature! For example 65°C all the time. THEN you can do the real hard job (exhaust temp not over 850) Nice greetings 👋

Thanks! What about the thickness? Somewhere I’ve heard 2mm, is that right? And are they special made ones or just some generic washers with right diameter? Also does that washer go under or on top of the stem seal plate? I did some measurements and if it goes under the stem seal plate , it wont reach to seal the valve guide anymore.

Ich habe eine frage und zwar habe ich mir einen 156 1.9 jtd 8v geholt (115ps) Ich habe bereits einen GT2260v Lader mit Krümmer schon rum liegen. Was müsste noch alles verstärkt werden für Standhafte und gesunde 190-210ps? LLK, Hochdruckpumpe R65, Map Sensor 3.5 oder 4 Bar, Kupplung. Wie siehts mit Einspritzdüsen aus halten die Serie 119er? Noch Tipps oder Empfehlungen? Mir geht es nicht um die Maximale Leistung :) Überlege mir noch einen 2.4 Brera zu holen sind die 20v gute Motoren? Liebe Grüße aus der Schweiz

Hi Ape862, it depends on your goals. Good choice up to 230hp is the GTB2056 from 210hp Alfa 159/Brera. Very good spool. Then comes the GTB2260 from f10/11 BMW up to max.300hp. Both NOT plug&play! Such conversions you can get at "jtd-performance" in the Netherlands.💪

Hi Zoran, i don't understand exactly what you want, but: Use VAG 4 bar MAP and VAG 2000bar Railsensors. Change Software and do logs while driving, look what your pump can deliver during full pull. If you have 308 injectors from 154kw engine, don't change nozzles. They can 400+ with good pump (for example R90) . Only if you want more take bigger nozzles. For software ask pdk chiptuning varna Mr Kostadinov ist absolut specialist 👍👌

@@zoranzoran2393 Hey Zoran. Honestly for over 340+ your Intake Manifold has to be modded and your head must be ported good. THEN you can reach (with the listed mods) and of course a good free flowing exhaust over 400hp. Your stock R80 pump will begin to struggle then, too. Depends on condition of the pump. Ja! Sehr gerne. Bei deinem Motor bin ich nicht "voll" im Thema, sicher bin ich mir jedoch, das der Turbolader das Nadelöhr bei dir ist. Ein GTB aus dem 210 PS 159er wäre ein lohnendes Upgrade.Auch ohne Softwareänderung schon viel mehr Drehmoment und Drehfreude oben raus. Bei JTD-Performance gibt es Kits ( Holland/Niederlande) Der Joel dort hat für deinen bestimmt etwas parat. Grüße HJT

Yeah of course. But it's nothing special. It is the stock GM F40 6-speed gearbox from this 156 20v. Only upgrade with Quaiffe torsen diff. is a good thing🔧💪

Hey, Gearbox is stock GM F40 and is very strong. No problems with it. But i do no drag racing with it.👍🔧

Hi! 209PS ist ne gute Basis. Die Sensoren MAP und Rail, eine größere CR Hochdruckpumpe z. B. R90 CP3, mindestens einen GTB/GTD 2565, einen freien Abgastrakt ohne DPF+KAT und gute Software. Das AGR noch stillegen und ausprogrammieren, dann sind 350 drin👍🔧

I' mostly fueling Cirkle K (Statoil) Miles. But, thinking about switching to B0. Called marine diesel with 0% biodiesel. What do you think?
Hi😊 0% Biodiesel ist best choice of course. Where do u come from? Here in Germany i can get premium diesel from Shell "V-Power Diesel" and Aral "Ultimate Diesel" 👍💪 In Germany i can get NO marine synthetic diesel GTL (Shell, means: Gas To Liquid). I bought it in the Netherlands to try out. Super Stuff! Absolute no smoke and more power. But burns hotter, so software has to be changed for lower EGT'S. So because it's not available here i go with ARAL Ultimate 0%Biodiesel and better Cetane grade.

Hi, stock belt. Pump pulley is machined crank pulley. Second roll, same as stock in the M10x1, 25 thread in the head. I explained already here in the comments. Search it, perhaps a little bit better explained there. 🔧
Can you tell us is that stock injektor 308 or what can we do to support so much power with 308 injektor?
Yes, 308 can deliver this power BUT you have to begin with electrical tank pump (build in a much stronger), then minimum R90 CP3 high pressure pump in very good condition and one new pipe back from engine bay to tank for diesel backflow without pressure.

Amazing job, such a lot of work for that car, that's brilliant! I'm wondering if it's true that with the time and money spent on a project like this you can have even more power on a similar diesel engine like the MB OM605. I know that they're the benchmark for massive tuning.
Hi! Intersting comment 🤗 I think you ment OM606. THAT is 3.0 6 cyl 24 valve giga engine with mechanical pump. I'm super interested in such thoughts you have. So for example M57 /N57 BMW engines compared with OM606 or JTDM and TDI different generations. The construction points where the 'superlittle' difference is... for example "material between the cylinder" or "bearing /piston pin diameter" "head/cooling design/closed deck", such given things that can make a bombproof engine design. And the 2,4jtdm is head to head with OM606. Shared 1st place💪
@@hjthiessen no no, i meant the OM605 (5cylinder) because i saw some MB Sprinter pulling like Golf GTI (and they're comparable to the 2.4 JTDm 'cause they have the same deplacement). The OM606 i think it's the Queen of diesel engine and even on it's NA version on the W124 sound amazing with an inox exhaust. A True classic car

Yes🤗 i know! Drive shafts in angle do not hold the torque for long. But when straight no problems 👍

The inner drive shaft joint right (Tripode) is the weak point. For this joint it seems to be easier to transfer high Torque when deeper in the shaft hole and straight. The fine needles in the three tripode balls are wearing on the full surface only when drive shaft is in no angle. And the pressure/surface rule says: pressure to more surface devides power. So the drive shaft has best surviving chances in straight position 💪⚙️🔧

@@bvcvcc1289 oh.. don't withstand WMI (WEI Ethanol in my case) it's SO much fun when kicks in. Especially when Compression Ratio is reduced it is a MUST. And you can use it for more power at the weekend or for cooling only when high speed race... I love WEI
Can you tell what thickness the washers under springs are? I’ve tried to find that info everywhere but no luck. I did some measurements how different thickness of shims affect the seat pressure but Im not sure how close to coil bind is safe to go with stock springs.

@hjthiessen Is there any updates on the build? I am really looking forward to them, I know you are cooking something big! On my 1.9 16v I have now moved on cp3 r90 with pulley mod, and the remaining injection system from 2.2mjet (674 inj) hoping that the pump will go on over 2200bar, do you have bigger sensor (2400-2500bar) reference you would reccommend using? Previously had R80 and 308 inj but got some complaints from the tuner that that setup wont go over 290hp... Gtd2060vz is in, welded onto stock manifold (only smoothed out, not ported), with 76mm dp but 70mm rest of exhaust. I did not touch engine head (stock springs aswell), hoping it will still do a decent job, without floating (forgot to do it when it was off the block last time)...but still aiming to keep the limiter close to 5500 as the complete engine bottom end is balanced within racing spec. I do not plan to go bigger with turbo nor exhaust, so maybe only the head porting when something decides to die... At what point did you decide to modify the intake manifold, I was hoping only to remove the butterfly from the throtle valve, would it present a big flow block (at 2.5bar, less than 350hp)? Also aside the rest, which low pressure fuel pump (in the tank) are you using? I have seen your reccomendation for aditional water pump but I havent seen my water temps going up much, maybe oem one is enough for 1.9/smaller engine... Stay strong and keep us updated! 💪
Hey! Seems you're "deep" in the topic and your estimatons are realistic as i think. Cp3 r90 will be able to go 2200bars on 4 cylinder 1.9👍when in good condition. 2060 is a very good turbo but better 2260 for 300hp and less backpressure. In my opinion you should invest in 2565. THEN everything gets better and the engine can get rid of all the exhaust in high rpm's😊🔧 VAG MAP Sensors... Keep on tuning! My new engine is just ready and filled with break-in-oil for the next 1000 very slow "drive in" km...... we will see 😅

Hi Zdenek! From my experience the head only cracks because of bad software tunings. With the stock water circuit you can go full throttle only for a (very) short time. And normally the exh. temperature raises much quicker than water (water temp big latency) So you never really know what your water circuit can do😅 Best solution is: Get a Pierburg cwa 400 electric water pump with tiny controller, take out thermostat and get lucky. You can set the wanted temp with the controller and you have ALWAYS this temperature! For example 65°C all the time. THEN you can do the real hard job (exhaust temp not over 850) Nice greetings 👋
@hjthiessen a bug in your brain, or something like that, I am not an English speaking person. Try LPG, if you have money. Diesel and LPG, the benefits are great, as I was told. Too bad that SalePB (watch some of his fiat punto 1.9jtd videos) got married and he ditched tuning.

Also does that washer go under or on top of the stem seal plate? I did some measurements and if it goes under the stem seal plate , it wont reach to seal the valve guide anymore.
You have some kind of valve spring mod? I’v heard some washers under springs and lifters but dont have exact info about it.

Ich habe eine frage und zwar habe ich mir einen 156 1.9 jtd 8v geholt (115ps) Ich habe bereits einen GT2260v Lader mit Krümmer schon rum liegen. Was müsste noch alles verstärkt werden für Standhafte und gesunde 190-210ps? LLK, Hochdruckpumpe R65, Map Sensor 3.5 oder 4 Bar, Kupplung. Wie siehts mit Einspritzdüsen aus halten die Serie 119er? Noch Tipps oder Empfehlungen? Mir geht es nicht um die Maximale Leistung :) Überlege mir noch einen 2.4 Brera zu holen sind die 20v gute Motoren? Liebe Grüße aus der Schweiz

Hi Ape862, it depends on your goals. Good choice up to 230hp is the GTB2056 from 210hp Alfa 159/Brera. Very good spool. Then comes the GTB2260 from f10/11 BMW up to max.300hp. Both NOT plug&play! Such conversions you can get at "jtd-performance" in the Netherlands.💪

Electric water pump and a lot goodies in fine tuning (ports, exhaust...) i will make new video when the alfa runs good, i promise🤗

Hi Zoran, i don't understand exactly what you want, but: Use VAG 4 bar MAP and VAG 2000bar Railsensors. Change Software and do logs while driving, look what your pump can deliver during full pull. If you have 308 injectors from 154kw engine, don't change nozzles. They can 400+ with good pump (for example R90) . Only if you want more take bigger nozzles. For software ask pdk chiptuning varna Mr Kostadinov ist absolut specialist 👍👌

@@zoranzoran2393 Hey Zoran. Honestly for over 340+ your Intake Manifold has to be modded and your head must be ported good. THEN you can reach (with the listed mods) and of course a good free flowing exhaust over 400hp. Your stock R80 pump will begin to struggle then, too. Depends on condition of the pump. Ja! Sehr gerne. Bei deinem Motor bin ich nicht "voll" im Thema, sicher bin ich mir jedoch, das der Turbolader das Nadelöhr bei dir ist. Ein GTB aus dem 210 PS 159er wäre ein lohnendes Upgrade.Auch ohne Softwareänderung schon viel mehr Drehmoment und Drehfreude oben raus. Bei JTD-Performance gibt es Kits ( Holland/Niederlande) Der Joel dort hat für deinen bestimmt etwas parat. Grüße HJT
