  I remember back in the day beaches used to have life guards and they would sit up high on a chair and watch for danger, including sharks. I don’t see this ever at this beach. I know we have technology now to see better than a person could but I wonder if it would be helpful to bring these types of jobs back to help protect beach goers?

  The bacteria is in not only this building but in the water source coming into the building. We need greater mitigation efforts at both the Public water system and the building.

  Questions: Can air and sea drones help secure beaches near designated booths attended by life-guards (for viewing drone- cameras on multiple live- stream screens & to operate in-booth drone controls)? ~~~ ALSO ~~ Monitoring DREDGING (replenishing eroded beach sand), to insure that increased shark access (& bait-fish attraction) isn't accidentally created, is also very important!!! ~~~~~~~ Ocean swimming isn't just important to the tourism industry, but also to the health & pleasure of local populations.

  There is a KZread channel that teaches people to interact with large sharks. They give the sharks Hawaiian names and act like the sharks are their friends. It is absurd.

  SO ... they think that if enough folks pray to the Sky Daddy, her hand will grow back?? MOST folks would be grateful that they're still breathing after a shark attack ... thanking their gods and whatnot. This one? "Goddamnit, where's my hand? You put it back right now!" Guess they don't call them Red States for nothing.

  Of course not. Faith is a means of coping with tragedy. Her community will rally around her and show their support and love for her by praying for her. And it will make her, them, and everyone who prays for her feel better. Because what happened to her was a horrible tragedy and I for one want her to feel better. Even though I don't know her.

  @@SusanChristmas I think @bofasofa is attempting to demean faith because so many religions exist across the globe, some of which have multiple gods. AND that some people exploit the faithful, even promising miracle cures, etc. Of course even the most faithful among us know that hands do not regrow on humans.

  Ft. Walton beach was known for sharks thirty years ago when I vacationed there and the beaches were beautiful. Did not go into the water at any time because so many warned of this possibility.
