    wish i understood sum of the terms better. what i doo 100 agree on is dont trt to be a lead foot when towing. drop it to atleast the speed limit or 5 under your engine with thank you. i dont go faster than 66mph when towing and not afraid to slow down to get engine out of 3500 rpms gasser. im mainly watchen oil temp and trany temp. oil 212 218 range try to hold going up a grade and dont like trany temp over 190.

    What us 6.4 guys need is to get rid of that cross over pipe that leaks between turbos, PLEASE convert the feed pipe between turbos to a band clamp boot style. Machine a lip on hp and ditch the coupler fit on lp. This allows for more cfm and easier to work on. Then take my money!

    Good stuff, I would just add that I always idle the engine after stopping and let it cool down a bit before shutting down. I have a high idle switch and I'll run it on high idle for 5-10 minutes before shutting down.

    Wow, an employee of KC Turbos says you should run a VGT because "reasons". Imagine that! Also, and likely unrelated: KC Turbos primarily sells VGTs which are 2-3X more expensive (and less reliable) than traditional fixed-vane turbos. Coincidence?

    I’m not going to listen to a diesel bro who lifts his truck and puts stupid oversized tires on it. Not a good setup for towing. What’s wrong with the way it came from the factory?

  • @KCTURBOS
    @KCTURBOS8 күн бұрын

    The truck in this video is not lifted. Larger tires provide greater clearance when off-road, and this truck has been re-geared to accommodate the larger tires. In addition, many truck owners do not want their truck to look exactly the same as everyone else's stock truck, so they aim for any sort of uniqueness when it comes to how their truck looks. The Factory tires are fine, and so are 35's. Everyone is different and has different styles and preferences.

  • @KCTURBOS

    For A stock Truck, just use the huge library of free tunes that are provided when you buy the hudra tuner. After you have then upgraded your injectors, then you can look into getting Custom tunes from a reputable tuner.

    What would cause excessive oil and coolant mix it seems but within 3 mins idle on 2016 sonic turbo 1.4 l big puddle on ground from cat flange and just drops big time and white smoke of course. But if per say it is head gasket or cracked block , Head gasket brand new with cylinder head and turbo all new, wouldn't all liquid be burnt up instead of puking out the cat flange seal? baffling me or the other hand if from turbo leak would car not run like crap[, it idles great no hesitations etc but if combustion chamber being filled with liquids again it would run like crap and burn off liquids instead of just dumping puddles in 3 min idle times out ass end of cat at flange > any help would be greatly aprieciated. thanks. btw soo noticable that in 3 mins oil and coolant levels drop dramatically.

  • @KCTURBOS
    @KCTURBOS10 күн бұрын

    It does sound like the classic case of a blown headgasket. With newer vehicles there are a number of places where oil an coolant can mix, for example a lot of turbos are coolant fed, and if there is a crack somewhere around your sonics turbo then that could be causing it. Take her into a good shop or even at harborfreight they have cheap pressure testing tool kits, and you can find out if your head gasket is blown or not.

    @@KCTURBOS Tested pressure on all cylinders and was between 178 to 182 , checked all spark plugs which were new as was the cylinder head , the whole unit with cams installed etc. new turbo, intake manifold purge valve solenoid, timing chain kit replacement, cam silinoid actuator, oil cooler aluminum , thermostat housing with thermostat , all seals used for all parts replaced, no leakage in any of them but literally a straight stream of liquid , whether oil or coolant or mix of both, puddles up under car in 2 mins have to refill the oil again ugh , Could a clogged Cat create too much back pressure and cause the return oil from turbo to be compressed past the turbo seal and into hot exhaust which causes the smoke but obviously huge pressure to empty the oil pan in minutes? crankcase pressure can block or push flow of oil back through the turbo from turbo drain ? Think that is possible? Really shooting for something now as i don't want to tear off the new turbo let alone the brand new cylinder head, new intake purge valve , all the seals i would have to get again , bugger of a job i tell ya . thanks again your comments are greatly appreciated.

    Not at all, diesels get more efficient the more power they make within certain limits. My 6.0 dually puts down around 950lb of torque and I can cruise at 70mph getting 18-19mpgs. Not bad for an old pickup.

  • @KCTURBOS
    @KCTURBOS10 күн бұрын

    Most of the time you will see better fuel mileage with a turbo upgrade and depending on the tunes. Were the loss of fuel mileage come from is now your truck makes cool noises when you push the pedal and its a lot faster, so people tend to use more fuel especially in the beginning. But if someone is careful, and they drive "normal" you can see better fuel mileage.

    You see, I need somebody like you. I've 2.0TDCI in 2008 ford focus. It was in many shops, even official ones. It's absolutely ridiculous how inexperienced poeple are there. They are not able to think; most of the time they follow some "cookbook" from a dealer. It would not help me saying what's wrong with my engine. But I do appreciate there are people still out there who know what they're doing.
