    That blood pressure is very high. I suspect that the cardiologist is stating that the heart is thickened/ enlarged secondary to the high blood pressure. Treating the blood pressure, and starting appropriate medications will certainly help your mother's heart.

    Your doctor might need to perform more tests to find out the cause of the fall, and the effects of the fall on the chest and heart. Chest X-ray on its own might not be sufficient.

    A question please doctor answer to me. My husband has been found with a 50% blockage of a stent that was fitted in the left artery. They are suggesting a bypass but we find thisnoperation very invasive. Allmother arteries are fine, the muscle in the heart fine, evrrything else fine. Just this 50% blockage of the stent. They are not recommending stenting again. Why not? Please advice. Bless you.

  • @DoctorBoladCardiology
    @DoctorBoladCardiology6 күн бұрын

    Coronary arteries are generally not treated until the blockage is about 70%. I suggest that you ask your doctor as to why he/she would like to treat a 50% blocked artery.

    @@DoctorBoladCardiology first of all thank you so much for replying and taking your time, it speaks volume about you. They are saying that because is on the main stem left artery is high risk. I saw the angiogram and it did look like more than 50%. Another cardiologist, with whom I had an informal conversation and saw the report, told me that he agreed with the bypass procedure and that my husband with his condition would have otherwise a great chance of dying within a year.

    This depends on the skill of the operator, and the volume the operator performs to open these 100% blocked arteries. Generally, the risk is higher for 100% blocked arteries.

    Dr Bolad I can’t take aspirin as it causes pain in the stomach. If I can’t have stent, what options do I have? 75 years, diabetic, ckd, 70% stenosis of mid LAD. Symptomatic with chest pressure. RCA not done as it was difficult to infuse the RCA due to aberrant location. What are my options?

  • @DoctorBoladCardiology

    Your doctor will need to discuss with you the options including possibly bypass surgery. The RCA can be evaluated possibly by CT angiogram.

    Hello doctor, my dad has a severe mr, mild ar and grade 3 diastolic dysfunction with increasing filling pressure and irregular heartbeats but his electrolytes test results were normal, he had ectopic beats 3months ago he had a ischemic stroke and currently he's suffering from transcortical sensor aphasia. We're in medications but these problems have never been decreased or reversed. Our cardiologist said that we'll wait 3 more months whether if it's possible to reverse all these conditions by medications or else we'll go for an Angio or CBAG. My question is can we wait for another 3months or can we go for an angiogram immediately to see the condition of CAD?

  • @DoctorBoladCardiology
    @DoctorBoladCardiology25 күн бұрын

    Generally an angio / cardiac catheterization will be needed just before surgery, to get more information on whether more work/ coronary bypass will be needed when the valve is being fixed. Having said that, the doctor following your father knows his clinical condition well, and he is the best person to advise you as to when to pursue the cardiac catheterization.

    Your doctors are hero’s!! If you had a choice to have the stent placed through the wrist or Leg ? Choose the leg because the diameter of the wrist artery and leg artery is Quite different the leg artery is like a interstate compared to the wrist which is like a two lane road so when they send a stent catheter up your wrist it will hurt much worse then from the leg !!
