Interesting notes on the size vs speed. Seems most people are sizing up but generally riding boat slower lately. Most riders I know are between 22-23mph. Makes sense with what you are saying.
@@LifetimeShred yeah, as you go bigger with the board it’s crazy how even 1mph makes a big difference
@@PeterGlennSports Yeah I am on the 144 HL Murray @175lbs. Been great for me.
Are you related to the guy that plays badger on Breaking Bad?
LOL, if I had a nickel....😜
My brother is struggling with speed, my fiancé is trying to do in water 360s and I’m starting to do small jumps on the wave. What setup works best for each these situations individually? Have tried multiple for jumps, but for spins would two small fins be better than one for breaking?
When it comes to jumping the board that is more of a "surf" style ride which would usually have a deeper fin. Something that can hold an edge and speed up and off the wake and then have tons of grip and stability on landings. For a "skim" style of riding spinning on the water you would want shallow fins that can break loose very easily. Hope that helps! Check out this video for a great visual about the different boards if needed kzread.info/dash/bejne/eXyE2ZKNmqjgdMY.html
My feet keep moving and my heel really doesn’t stay down in my new Obriens. Are your feet supposed to be tight? I feel like your heel shouldn’t come out? I have been falling out of my skis either before I get up or when I fall
@@rahulk3709 these skis do have very basic adjustable bindings so they’re not going to be super tight. You do want to adjust them down as small as you can where your foot is not uncomfortable.
Am I supposed to check the geight of the sbowboard against my chin/nose while wearing my boots or while barefoot?
@@cassif19 it really doesn’t matter that much, just in your shoes is fine. It’s just a gauge to get you in a certain range.
@@PeterGlennSports Oh, wow! Thank you so much for answering my comment! I wasn't really expecting that😁
beautiful. i already bought mines.

just wondering the yellow cap can be folded and hidden somewhere, without showing outside?
It does have a hood that packs away in the collar 👍
Hi, i know this isn't related but i have been trying to get a new board and im having a bit of trouble. Im about 140 punds and 6' foot and i don't know what wakeboard size i need. I am doing this for about 4 years.
@@gllennu123stillplays since you are a little bit taller for your weight I would look at boards in the upper range for your weight. For a boat board we’re taking in the area of 138-139. Why is nobody ever talking about/reviewing the nitro magnum?
@@wesleymaduro5592 the Magnum is definitely a rad board but it is for big dudes with big feet. Since it’s for a very specific rider that’s probably why you don’t see a lot of reviews. Think of it as the big brother to the SMP. Comparably since there is much more length and width they do an upgraded core and sidecut to make it lighter and easier to turn. Hi bro! Could you give me ur opinion please? Iam an intermediate rider. 1.83cm tall, 93kg weight and boots walth burton step on size 11.5 with genesis step on bindings size L. Iam a noobie in carving. Burton web recommends me a W board. Would you too?
@@nanocalderon1997 haha, saw your DM on instagram before your comment here. If you are checking out boards in your size range (162-164) most are going to have wider waist widths already. You really just need to take into account everything that is said in the video (actual waist, skill level, conditions, specific board, etc) to see if you would benefit or not from a wide board.
Best tutorial! Thanks for the break down!
No worries, thanks for checking it out!
I'm almost ready to go on it after that video. What's is your opinion for a Burton custom board? I I want to have playful and not aggressive feeling.
@@grigorakis88 the Custom is for sure one of the best all mountain, go anywhere, do anything boards. I’ve never met a person who doesn’t like it! Enjoy the ride!
Buying my 2nd Snowboard I am 150 in height and am looking in buying a 138 board is this a good choice?
@@thatfingerdude like Matt said in the video it depends on your weight, riding style, etc but on average something in the 135-138 would be fine 👍
Can you take the fins off?
You sure can. It has 3 removable fins so you can customize the feel of your board. Stay tuned on July 1st we have a video coming all about the different wakesurf fin set ups and what they do 👍
@@PeterGlennSports thanks
I used the 175cm 101 Despatch most of the 2024 season, I have G3 zed 12 bin bindings on them, they are great on hard ice but really come to life in soft snow, very stiff but also very light so easy to manipulate in tight chutes.
Nice!!
Can you ride powder with this board? I've been snowboarding for two years so I'm kinda medium/low advanced level.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend it, the Good Company is more of a park focused board.
Scott Split OTG Goggles seem to fit over my larger RX glasses with no problems
Good to know, thanks for the tip! 👍
Bro could you help me pleasee, I want to buy this board, Iam a normal rider ( not noobie, not professional, I ride in fields) Wich version do you recommend me? The camber one or the flying V? Please and also Iam looking to use ir with genesis step on bindings and burton sweath boots what do you think about that kit? Thanks
If you want an easier, catch free, floatier feel go with the Flying V. If you want a more aggressive, snappier feel go with the camber. One isn’t better than the other it’s really just personal preference.
what color way are yall wearing?
The Lowdowns in this video are a tortoise frame and the Guides Choice are a matte black. SMITH GLASSES: www.peterglenn.com/category/men%27s/sunglasses?filters=im_vid_6:72&
Can you answer me please😢 in your personal opinion wich boots you prefer between ruler or swath? Pleasee
I have not ridden either of them so I can't say but I can almost guarantee it would be the Swath. I am a big "standard laces" guy because I like the customization of the 3 lacing zones. The Ruler SO is a single BOA so I would definitely prefer to have at least 2 lacing zones of the Swath instead on 1 on the Ruler
Great instructional video,. I have watched many reviews that say they are great bindings but this is the one one I have found that clearly shows how the locking system works and how to step in and out.
Glad it was helpful!
this video is so good man!
🙏 much appreciated
Bought a mega death won’t get to ride it till December! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. 👌🏼
It was definitely AMAZING, but full thoughts coming soon 😉
What is the Burton model name of the bindings you used to test the board.
Those were the Burton Cartel EST
Would you say the superpig is better for riding switch?
Not necessarily, the Superpig is basically the higher end, suped up version of the Warpig.
@@PeterGlennSports I'm super pumped to try shorter boards as I'm 6ft5, lots of trees cliffs and pillows I ride but I also love riding switch
@@HighBall-wt8jp heck yeah! Jump on a 158 Warpig or Superpig and you’ll love it!!!
I've seen many people transporting the bindings w/o being attached to the board. Does that keeps the board and/or the bindings more safe? or is just a matter of space?
I can see pro's and con's of having the bindings on or off, but at the end of the day I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Alekesam the Skeleton key successor?
It’s kind of a replacement for the Skeleton Key and Flight Attendant. Super fun board!!
Burton x and burton custom please
More vids coming soon!
After doing all this should I leave it by itself or put it in a hard shell travel case? Thanks
Up to you really. Just make sure it's stored in a cool dry place either way. 👍
What grit gummy stone do you recommend?
How was the moderator compared to the shadowban or deep fake?
Stay tuned, you’ll find ALL of that out when the “Run 1” videos start releasing 😉
If you had to pick 1 for next season (something to look out for) what would it be? 👍🏻🏂🏂
Oh man, theres so many good boards. It really depends on what riding style you are looking for. All boards ride great it's just about your personal preferences or just knowing how to ride different shapes/profiles. Some of the standouts for me personally were the Mega Death, Alekesam, Warpig, Outerspace Living, Assassin Pro, Escape and Legitimizer. And those are just out of the boards I actually rode. 🤷♂
Very Helpful! Thank You
Glad it was helpful!
6’3” 240lb chonky boy. Do I need the Nomad Slingshot 160? I ride a 162W snowboard if that helps at all
Definitely couldn’t hurt 👍
Have a question: I have a boots with 6 flex and thinking to change my board and bindings, I think to buy softer board around 4-5 and bindings 5-6, what would u say about this type of setup? hopefully I don't sound too beginner, in fact I'm at the beginning of my snowboarding journey. What would you recommend ? I loved your take on flex, because most videos I see on youtube does not really explain flex in details and I think it is very important part of your ride.
Sounds like a fun set up. Just like is said in the video there are no “rules” to selecting flexes between your gear. You can fully customize your set up how you like it. 👍 Enjoy the ride!
Just ordered a new snowboard, won’t get to ride it until season starts, it’s just going to be sitting for months. Should I wax it when it’s time to use it?
No need, just make sure to store it in a cool, dry place until you are ready to ride 👍
I've got the Mega Death 161W, such a sick board to ride. Quick but with enough flex that it feels good.
100%
What binding did you have on it? I've got the exact same one, haven't ridden it yet.
@@User_R4nD0MnUmb3R5 I have the Nidecker Supermatics in white on it. Matches the colors of the board and boots (black/white).

What variaty of board are out there with volume shift? Might be something for me as I am a smaller but not to light rider :) I'm 158cm in height and ride a 144cm board. Due to its flat shape and soft flex its actually not suitable for my weight. (But with my preferred length and shape there arent many options out there - as far as I know - to also fit my weight :) ... Maybe there are some volume shifting boards out there which may fit better?
Like Matt said in the video, volume shift boards are a great options for riders with a little more weight. I'd check out the Ride Warpig in a 142, great all mountain board that will be the proper length but feel like a bigger board for your weight. Enjoy the ride!
Are all Warpig models volume shifted? I mean like older models from past years? :)
@@Kaugummiautomat42 yes, the Warpig is one of the OG’s when it comes to volume shifted boards.
142 seems like a nice choise, but 148 would be suitable accordiong to weight recomendation (up to 73kg - considering weight including gear, up to 80kg would be "save") should I still look for the 142 (avoiding to have it too long) or 148 (as weight limit on boards was the initial thought of volume shifting board) :D - sorry for throwing some stupid randomquestons :D
@@Kaugummiautomat42 It's all good, these are great questions to ask. Depending on your riding style you would still be fine on the 142. Unless you are going out and riding fast and carving hard most of the day that would be the only reason to NEED to bump up to the 148
I am surprised Ride doesn’t have a board called the “Nerf Hammer.” They seem to name their boards from lingo straight out of World of Warcraft: The Moderator, the shadowban. Is Burton dropping their 3D line, or is the double dog and others being refreshed? Ty
The "3D specific" line up has been taken out so no more Double Dog, Daily Driver, or Deep Daze. That being said they are still using some of the 3D shaping in other boards in the lineup including the new 3D Channel Surfer
@@brianp9268 a “shadowban” is an mmo lingo. It means to be banned from a game by the GMs without notification….
