I have also been through many trimmers. I own the Fiskars rotary blade too, which I still use occasionally. The main one I use now, which I love, is the Cutterpillar Pro. Of course you can’t gut paper so I have a Dress My Craft trimmer that I use for that. Thanks for the great review.

There are so many trimmers out there! It is hard to find the "right" one.

OMG! I Have the SAME problem with it and it actually makes the paper cut a slight crooked line as in not a straight cut. If you look at your paper closely after a cut you can see it, it is everly so slightly but I can see it and it drives me crazy! I couldn't figure out why it wasn't EVERY SINGLE TIME but now that you pointed it out that at that one spot it hits the edge that makes sense. I am kind of upset bc it wasn't a cheap price for that trimmer. I thought maybe I just got a wonky one. Maybe I should reach out to Tim Holtz. Let me know if you can tell a slight difference in the cut when it catches. Great vid and LOL I have 4 trimmers! All have great points and all have not so great points, hence the 4!

I contacted Tonic. They were very fast at responding. They told me they had a batch of bad blades that had burs on the blade that was catching on the plastic. Check your blade. I checked my blade and I do see a bent piece of metal. Tonic is sending me a new trimmer. I'll have an update once I've got a new trimmer and undamaged blade to try out.

I've been considering this purchase for a long time, but found what I'd read a little confusing. Your video was excellent! Omg! 3 days ago my Gemini ll cracked! I used the plates from my gem jr. I followed the sandwich according to the gem ll book: clear plate, paper, die face down, plastic shim, magnetic shim and then clear plate. This reads from bottom to top. The machine stopped mid way and the sandwich wouldnt come out. And was stuck. When I pushed the reverse button the sandwich came out but is cracked my pink platform off and bent the upper pressure bar. My bar stayed in and didn’t come out in pieces. One of my gem jr played was slightly bent. Yup$$$$$$$ machine. I haven’t tried the machine since. Your video is a life saver!!! I will try your alternate sandwich choices. Very sad about this. I don’t like the 9x12 plates that come with gem 2. I noticed the only avail. Gem jr plates are those white plates. They are supposed to be better than the clear plates. So I will try and see which sandwich works. Is none of them I’ll try to get refund or go back to my sizzix cracker. Your suggestions were great and helped me a lot! Thanks
